Tom Clancy

If I like books in the style of Dan Brown, and other novels like that, would you recommend Tom Clancy to me?

I like thriller type books and books by Robert Ludlum like the Bourne series.

I heard he's great but I'm not sure If I would like him.

What books would you recommend?

Clancy's style can be extremely slow and a little too political at times, but there are a few books I've read of his that I thought were amazing. Without Remorse and Rainbow Six are the first ones to come to mind. At the very least you should check one out. I'd go with Rainbow Six to start.

Is Rainbow Six the type of book I just won't put down?

I really can't stand those books that you just force yourself to get through

Clancy's writing is overall fairly decent, but very predictable. Bad guys try to take over and its up to group of highly trained special ops to save the world.

The only person that can gauge whether or not a book holds their attention is the person holding the book.

Rainbow Six has it's slow moments, but the fact that you managed to read through a Ludlum novel means that you can probably handle Clancy's style. And Rainbow Six has some amazing moments that make it all worthwhile.

Thanks

I would recommend starting at the beginning and working yourself forward. A few you could skip, but start at the beginning.
