The Stand by Stephen King

I don't even have the words to describe how amazing this book is. No piece of literature ever immersed me as the Stand. At some points, I honetly felt chills, it's unbelievable.

If you are a fan of post-apocalyptic books, Stephen King, ****.. reading in general, you need to pick this up.

ajflsjfsjfjalksjdfsdf

So ****ing good haha.

PS- Make sure you buy the uncut version.

Lawl. It only came out 30 years ago, man. It's highly regarded by just about everyone, so don't you worry.

one of my favorite books of all time, finished reading it about a month ago

I also downloaded the mini-series and watched it, its kind of the basterdized version because very very key parts which develop characters are left out

but yea, ****ing awsome book

World War Z.....kind of. Thats really the only other post-apocolyptic book thats drawn my attention as much as the Stand.

I read about half of it back in 8th grade. Now that I'm older and slightly more into that kind of subject (zombies+talk of 2012 has gotten me interested), I might have to read it again. It was pretty damn good, as far as I remember.

Read The Gunslinger series by Stephen King, not a post apocalypse series but it is related to the stand and many other books that he wrote. It's a seven book series.

I did enjoy the stand, another one that I would recommend, and one you actually might like better is Robert McCammon's Swan song

It sounds very similiar to the stand, but it's not. follows a few people after a nuclear war. A nice mix between what would really happen and fantasy, and then brings them all together in the end. I think the reason I like it better is the characters are better developed and I think the characters stay true to human nature more then the stand.

Lol I've never read it but I find hard to belive that a character would be more developed then someone like the trashcan man in the stand

having a gun shoved up your *** while you Jack another guy off is a fairly deep character evolution lol

lmao. Read it, I guarantee* that you will like it.

small print, the guarantee stated above means that if for whatever reason you do not like it, a free lobotomy with the same face value of the book will be given to you. I reserve the right to substitute homemade shock therapy until I have had enough and decide to stop.
