Paintball Under Siege In Berlin
My friend who is playing a tournament in an big indoor hall in Berlin today just called me. SWAT teams just stormed the paintball hall and right now over 100 paintballers are trapped inside. The police are checking all their guns and the ones that can be adjusted over 220fps (something ) will be taken and destroyed. Might even be some arrests!!!
What kind of country would do this to people who only are out to have fun. Not hurt anyone or do any damage.
The police should be focusing on catching drug dealers, killers and crazy mob people instead.
Germany = free country??? Donīt think so!!!
This whole thing has been filmed and will come up on you tube later on this thread.
Thanks for your time.

Speculation:
I've been checking out the German news media and there have been some major protests and counterprotests around neo nazism in the last few days regarding the memorial of a neo nazi leader. Paintball in germany is sometimes looked down on because it appears to some that it could be used to train neo nazi terrorists. It may be that the German government are trying to make a link between these paintballers and neo nazis in an effort to
A: validate their previous views about paintball and
B: be seen as though they're doing something about the neo nazis.

This sounds about right. Using misinformation to terrorize innocent people is not the way to run a government.

This is one of those times that I wouldn't blame a single person for forcibly defending themselves against a governmen. What will they tell the nation? They stopped a Neo Nazi training camp? Full of TEENAGERS in bright colorful clothing sporting pink guns and shooting colored balls of gelatin and food coloring? The problem is the government can't handle their own **** so they have to pick on people that are trying to have a good time.

As far as I can tell from that German forum link, this is to do with the guns shooting too fast and therefore being illegal according to some law in Berlin? I'm not completely certain but that looks like the problem.

Guns shooting 50-60 fps more than official limit (220ish?) is not grounds for a full force police raid on a tournament. They didn't get the ban through so someone high enough decided to ruin the game by pressing small details.
I'm sure there is no one who believes that full force police raid was required to control marker firing speeds. (if rumors about swat geared police is true it just isnt ridicilious beyond believing, but also god damn dangerous - how can police storm with such gear into a god damn paintball facility?) How about an official letter to pay attention to such details? Especially when these said markers are available almost everywhere in europe without a permit by just walking into a store and buying one.
Sounds like a bloody ****ing hilarious joke and at the same time so sad where Europe is going nowdays..
