Bears

What do you guys think they need to be successful in the upcoming seasons.

I think we need a new coaching staff lovie ain't doing ****

defiantly need to ditch the whole o line and replace it

Bench uralacher get his old *** off the field he dosent hit nearly as hard as he used too.

possibly work a little more with cutler

New safety's

A NEW OWNER

And after that i dont see them being successful for 3-5 seasons after that. There has to be a braking in period anyone else have any other ideas? Disagreements?

Urlacher is far from a problem for the Bears...

Some offensive line help would be great, specifically get rid of orlando pace. guy is garbage.

Urlacher is great, very inteligent player and leader so just because you say he cant hit hard doesnt mean ****.

One thing I knew going into this season is it wasnt going to be a winning season. Cutler wasnt going to waltz in here and connect with these wide receivers. There is no chemistry because these wide receivers are all to new to the system. Hester played last year but he was okay at best as wr last year. This year he has shown some improvement.

Fire ron turner, he makes some poor play calls.

New coach would be the first on the list IMO. Lovies tactics are old and ineffective. '

Offensive line: this is the most pressing need. Without no QB or RB can succeed regardless of talent level. A franchise left tackle would be outstanding but those dont just come along every day. Cutlers best days in Denver were 2008 when he had arguably the best oline in the game blocking for him. They need to recreate that wall for him if they want to see the explosiveness he can offer to an offense.

More weapons for Cutler: The kids got incredible talent. Give him something to work with. He doesnt need a TO or a Randy Moss, hes good enough to make guys like Hester, Knox, and Bennett look really good but a bonafide #1 would make them an relatively potent offense.

Defense - Its not a bad defense. Urlacher is still a monster when hes healthy, they could use some corner help but they have guys who can get the job done. Another big time pass rusher would be key though.

They definitely need a new #1 WR though. Without that the team will not get to a SB.

nothing will ever change until the bears have new ownership. ITs a family run team so its a cheap team. They will never spend the money it takes to bring in the best talent or coaching. Always settling for the bargain bottom free agents and mid round draft talent because Jerry angelo wiffs on all his top picks.

Lovie smith is an above average defensive cordinator and a sub par head coach his defense worked well when he had the front four pass rush to make his cover 2 work. But in reality it hasnt worked since the super bowl year and theyve been going to that retarded mug up look that lets teams throw 10 yard slants all day.

Ron turner is an incredibly predictable offensive coordinator and abliet he has mediorce talent you still have to game plan around what you have. and i have yet to see that happen. Try rolling Cutler out so he can have a throwing lane and allow the recievers to get some seperation. Just no more 4 yard slants on 3rd and 8.

as far as the teams roster is concerned.

jay cutler will regress and get worse without improvement of his coaching staff and players around him. His mechanics are going to **** having to throw off his back foot every play by either real or manifested pass rush.

matt forte is a runningback that needs a hole hes not a make something out of nothing rb and it really shows this year. His feet are made of cinder blocks and he lacks that punch he had last year

The receivers are all #3 speed slot guys bennet is a nice engram kinda guy who will catch you 3rd downs but nothing more. Knox will be a really good slot guy. Hester should of never moved to wr they should of just paid him #3 money to be a full time pr/kr specialist. It was a move done to make a reciever on the cheap. We need a real reciever a guy with size and speed and golden hands.

the offensive line sucks, pace and olin kruetz are done. the interior guys are backups and chris williams is a push over bust.

The defensive line has a bunch of fat cats, tommie harris should be traded for the highest picks to the sucker who will take him. he only has a year or 2 left before his knees are done.

Urlacher still has 2-3 years left in him. Briggs is the only guy on the defense who should be allowed to keep his roster spot. We need to get a high end talent at our other linebacker spot all the mid round talent guys aka hillenmeyer nick roach are barely startable.

the secondary sucks. tillman is not a top corner he would be a nice # 2 or maybe a spot saftey at this point in his career. vasher has fallen off as the bears have gone to more man and he doesnt have the pass rush to allow him to jump routes. zachary bowman is improving and was a nice late round steal. the safteys are a mess. IF payne can learn how to cover better hes is a good saftey, Manning is an athelete not a football player. the backup guys all lack range.

^ Fully agree.....
If you notice too, NONE of them show that hunger they once had. Turner must think that just because the Bears got Cutler that 60 to 70% of the plays must be pass plays. WRONG. I agree about Forte, he impressed me before now hes having 42 yd games??? wtf.

The Bears are (were) a pound the football team. they lost a bit of focus. Look at Cedric Benson, he has an ok line with the Bengals, he made the Bears D look weak with 100yds+ and was a so called (bust) in Chicago. Last I checked he was in the top 5 rushing a few weeks back.

A new O line is needed for sure. If Cutler is going to do anything for this team, they NEED to protect him. He can't do **** if he is forcing throws and on his heels the whole damn game. The line is getting older and The Bears need to stop taking players with old shine and spend some capital on some bricks for that line.

It is rebuild time.

GO BEARS!

How to fix Bears:

1. Clean out the coaching staff.
2. Move Devin Hester back to his original role of special teams stud.
3. Draft actual WRs with talent.
4. Draft some defensive depth.

Bears o-line isnt as terrible as alot of you guys think... nowhere near as needy as getting some actual WRs, defensive depth for an aging defense, and better coaches.

The o-line was going against perhaps the best defensive front in football right now. Everyone looks bad against them.

O-line help is needed but I wouldn't call it a priority for them.

being a good team starts up front on the line of scrimmage and when your offensive line cant open holes or pass protect, and your defensive line cant generate rush or fill the gaps you wont be a very good team.

Matt Forte is pretty disappointing. He can't find the whole, is slow to make his move to it, and dances around in the backfield way too much. That said the o-line is the worst in the NFL, defense is garbage, and they have the most predictable playcalling of any team I've watched since the John Shoop Bears. Its pretty pathetic when I know whats coming despite never having played organized football in my life.
