What if ...

What if I told you that a new team was being formed, to compete in the PSP?

What if I told you that this team had funding, not a lot mind you, but enough to make this reasaonable for the players involved?

What if I told you that the team was a new team, being comprised of players from other (now defunct) teams. Which I suppose implies that there is some opportunity for players to step up and be noticed?

What if I told you the person in charge had experience in running teams in the past, plus the connections and means to get the team noticed by potential sponsors or hook it up with earning opportunities?

This isn't a sign up.
This is meant to spark some conversation.
I'll leave it at that, for now.

Making the transition to national ball is a pretty big step. There’s far more involved than just showing up to a tournament with a wad of cash and paying your way thru. Far more organization needed to make sure you can get 8-12 guys on a plane in a rental van and in a hotel. Then on a field and be successful. That level of stress can defiantly break somebody down. I think the overwhelming task of setting that up for the team is what prevents guys from going national.

It adds to expenses sure but there’s a lot more to do than show up and play (at least for the guy running it). To be able to hop into an organization run by somebody who has done this already is very appealing to a player.

Making things cheaper and having funding is great. However having the know how to get it done is greater.

I am looking forward to it as an opportunity. With the growing of Xball in NE, we need to make sure there is a growth opportunity, give people something to strive for again.

If this were to happen... I would put together my own team to compete against Jeffs new feeder team.

We would have infinite backing

The best players from around the world

The best practice facility

Oh wait this wouldnt happen. I would probably just be interested to see what this team could do, who would be on it, who would become leaders and if it could survive the year. Maybe I would even try and involve myself to helping this newly formed team out, if I were so inclined

you forgot to write anything in your post. The general practice when quoting someone is to then comment/add to/ or take away from the quote.

Keep practicing youll get it

i would be very surprised to see what this team can accomplish, and what this can mean for new england paintball. i think this is exactly what we need, another fully national team from new england. this team could be very positive, we now have another team to practice and another team to look forward to one day being a part of.
just my thoughts

TBO gets it. The . usually just implies that you agree with the quoted post and have nothing else to add, and since pbnation requires you type something in, you just type a .

At any rate... It's always good to see more local teams competing at the national level.

Same boat as Gabe... would be interested to see whose backing it, whose running it, whose on the roster. Most of all, whether it would survive the year.

Would the core of this team be composed mostly of another? Just wondering if it is a complete throw together.

Listen we can not all be forum guru's.... and what kind of world do we live in where we can not just say "yes I agree with the above quote/post" lets not let the internet make us to lazy people.

Who is to say this new team would even be worth the practice of the hurricanes? Not for nothing there hasn't been a legitmate practice team for the hurricanes in xball here with established teams. Why would this team be different? (and it could be)

I think what will make this team different than the teams of the past is going to be put completly on themselves. Are they going to willing to do the extra effert in to gain on the 'canes? Historically when B teams are run under the 'canes they become lax because they in a sence get spoiled. Inidivuals have found success under the 'canes umbrella, but the team thing has not.

So the question is, is there enough dedication/will of an entire team to really make this worthwhile? Thats why im not only intrested in who plays and how, but leaders will need to emerge and I havent seen that in quite some time.

and If i make myself look bad while trying to crack a joke, can you all just agree to ignore my lack of forum edict so I think that I am actualy comedic? come on guys I'm new at this

What Jeff is talking about is starting a divisional team for the PSP, not a pro team like XSV was when they started. And this team will have minimal funding meaning players will have to pay out of pocket for practice and events. XSV recruited players by paying them. Jeff's "team" would be looking for established divisional players as well as some young up and comers to fill the roster on this team. XSV was looking at players on every other pro team to fill their roster.
