I have no experience doing one, but it cant be that hard, esp given the clutch seems to be made of dust, because I hear of more evo owners replacing their clutch at low mileage than any one else.

I did the clutch in mine, its fairly easy if you know what to do and have the proper tools (lift, tranny jack, etc), but if you do it at home then it could be pretty stressful

edit: You may not even have to take the tranny all the way out since its only the clutch and you want to do it at your house, but be careful

a clutch job isnt that bad if you know what you are doing and have done it before. i helped a friend of mine do 2 clutches in his old VIII. we had them done in a day each....and that was with the car on jack stands in a garage.

the sticky part of the 9 is the ACD. if you disconnect the ACD lines you have to take the car to a dealership to have the system flushed/reinitialized(whatever you want to call it) unless you have the special MUT tool.

im hoping to avoid the ACD removal when we do my clutch next week. we will be pulling the motor to make things easier on ourselves.

Not a bad deal at all though, if its legit. Minus the salvage title...

the reason that people end up replacing the stock clutches in their evo's so soon is because people beat the living **** out of their cars most of the time. i would much rather have a weak link in my drivetrain be the clutch as opposed to gears in the transmission or something like that. my car has been at over above 300 hp for most of its life and ive never had a problem with my clutch...now obviously ive never really taken the car to the drag strip and launched it but i have by no means babied the car.

Clutch jobs aren't THAT hard. I've had the trans/Tcase out of my buddy's cars well over 8 times. It took us, from pulling it into the garage to driving it out, just about 6 hours. That's including time to get some food in the process.
