It's pretty common knowledge that Pats players have a reputation for taking pay cuts in order to be a part of the team, most famously, Tedy Bruschi, who helped start that trend. As did Rodney Harrison. It's one of the reasons why - despite all their success - they are in the bottom half of the league with regards to cap space.

I just don't get all the hate for franchises like Pittsburgh and New England. They are well-run, they trade well, they draft well, they cultivate a winning attitude that permeates through all aspects of their respective franchises; they just ****ing win.

Just seems like bitterness.

What it comes down to is that franchises like New England and Pittsburgh are the gold standard; they are what you strive to be.

Check your facts. Those guys never took pay CUTS to be anywhere. They'd be foolish. All they would do was take base salary and convert into a roster bonus to help with the cap. For example Tom Brady made an extra like 2 million to get Randy Moss in New England by doing that. No one in the NFL takes pay cuts. Anyone who believes that for a second are incredibly naive.

Tom Brady is anything but classy and to compare him to Jeter is an insult to Derek. If Brady misses a pass you immediately see him heading to the referee telling him to throw a flag because his knee was barely grazed. I am a soccer player and it's bad when I say he complains to the ref. I would have a lot more respect for him if he just nutted up and played the game.

If he did that every time, which he does not, how would that be any different than jeter lunging all over the batters box when he takes a pitch acting like it was way inside or outside?
