which dm8 bolt is best?

i only want people who have a dm8 or dm9 with any of these bolts im about to list. please tell me what u think is better about that bolt compaired to the stock bolt. also tell me if its worth the amount of money it costs to buy the bolt. kick means nothing to me as i have played with a tippmann x7 and if u want to c some kick get one of those. also if i have not listed a bolt that means i havent heard of it. please post what u think about that bolt as well. thanks

TechT L7 bolt - Price around $75-$80.

Billy Wing bolt - Price $100.

Orange S.A.M. - Price $60-$75.

and can u please tell me what the differnce is. im looking for quiteness and strength more than ne thing. i know kick is a big factor to most people cuz ur little arms cant keep the gun from kicking (its a paintball gun not a 357 magnum) idk just give me something on these bolts. accuracy is a plus as well. i could care less about air effiency cuz i dont have to pay for air and i usually only play at my field. just tell me ne thing please and ty.

from what you posted it doent sound like you would even want to bother upgrading your bolt, you dont care about efficency or kick which are the major reasons most people change, if you just worried about sound, the dm is one of the most quiet guns on the market already.
on that note
the tech-t i have heard very mixed reviews, some work great, some are huge failures
BW- i had one in my dm8, loved it, you just have to break it in to see the real advantages of it. most people expect the bolt to just work, but you have to break its o rings in
orange- i dont know much about the dm bolt but i had one of their ion bolts and hated it

anyways good luck with your quest

your post is a fail. you pretty much told us you dont want an upgraded bolt in the first place.

the b-wing sucks until you break it in. but once you do it will work great. smooth and quiet. more air effient. which you dont care about anyways..

Meh if u just want quiet but don't care about efficientcy. Then up your dwell to 21 and lower your lpr till it stock cycling and turn it up by a quarter. ( see sticky). It will make your marker smooth and very quiet. but you probably won't be that efficient...

No need a different bolt. Just stick with stock bolt

bleh... hate typing with the iphone sometimes...

what I meant was...
1. Turn your dwell up to 21
2. Turn your LPR up to stock setting
3. Set your HPR to desired FPS
4. Turn you LPR down by half turn till it stop cycling
5. Turn it up by 1/4 turn till it start cycling and shooting consistantly.

it should be pretty soft and quiet after this tune... if you have some bolt stick, turn it up by another 1/4 turn...

One of the sticky posts, has a link to how to tune a DM...

What exactly are you looking for in an aftermarket bolt if you don't care about kick and don't care about efficiency? What do you mean by strength? The different bolts will not effect your accuracy. Accuracy is determined not by the bolt but by consistency of the velocity, quality of paint, bore i.e. if you under or over bore, condition/cleanliness of barrel, equal pressure on both detents.

That being said people have very different results with the TechT L7 bolt. Some like it some swear it's garbage. It will take a lot of tuning to get the bolt to perform correctly and by the sounds of it you don't have too much experience tuning a fuse bolt.

The Billy Wing bolt will take some breaking in initially but will allow you to lower your LPR. Lowering your LPR will reduce kick, which you said you don't care about and could help reduce the noise signature a little bit. The sound on a properly tuned fuse bolt is super quiet to begin with anyway, especially coming from your x7.

To be honest from what it sounds like you don't really need an aftermarket bolt. I would say just go out and shoot your DM8 and see what you like and don't like about it. It sounds like you have false expectations from an aftermarket bolt.

I'd definitely save the money, buy paint, and just play. You're not going to find the "gains" you're looking for by purchasing an aftermarket bolt.

Anyone who loves the L7 could have saved a lot of money and bought a cheaper gun.

The Orange bolt is hit or miss, I've seen three misses first hand (DM3 bolt sections came unglued, Intimidator bolt rear half snapped off, PM6 bolt not a smooth surface and constant leaks)

The BWing bolt is great. But it's barely different from a stock bolt.

I have used all but the Tech T (which i didnt because i too read the mixed reviews).

The B-Wing bolt will give you a much quieter sound signature and less kick, after it is broken in.

The Orange bolt will give you slightly better efficiency and a shorter dwell time resulting in a shorter cycle or higher ROF capability. But in my case it didnt change the sound signature to a very noticeable level.

Best bolt IMO is the stock bolt with a tophat mod....or the B-Wing bolt.

billy wing bolt is good once you break it in...like everyone and there mother is saying lol..had one in my dm8 and now dm9...I recommend changing the trigger before changing anything...makes a big difference...if you are rockin the dm8 then get the critical trigger...hope this helps somewhat...before you buy a different bolt please get your gun tuned to the specs that you like the best...

lol i noticed. i also just read all the posts. i do plan on upgrading the trigger. theres quite a bit of stuff i have learned and decided to get b4 a bolt. i do kinda have a new problem and i sent an email to dye about it but have heard nothing from them and its been a week. problem is that when i screw my back cap all the way in my bolt sticks out a bit and the barrel wont screw all the way in. if i back the back cap out a little then screw the barrel in and then the back cap back in to snug it looks like every thing lines up right but then my gun gets drop off bad cuz of the fact the back cap dont get plugged right likes its supposed to. someone said it might b a dm9 back cap or something... lmk what u think. thanks
