Any thoughts on Walden?

Ever since first hearing about Transcendentalism I have been intrigued by it. Naturally, Thoreau's Walden is considered a figure head of the movement. Has anyone read it? Is it worth the read? After a recent visit to the library I've been in the mood to read something.

Thoreau was a ***** compared to Emerson. But, feelings vary from person to person. Emerson was involved in the movement prior to Thoreau's emergence and Thoreau lived on Emerson's property.

I'm going to the library today to drop off some books I needed for a research paper, I'll probably pick it up..that is if I can actually find the book. I'm not the best library searcher.
