Paintballers for Peyton – Grand Total: $34,899.67 - CONGRATS!
Members and Guests,
Thanks for taking the time to read this and help
Some of you may have heard about Darryl Trent's 7-year old daughter Peyton and her needed heart surgery.
Darryl works for DLX and is a well-regarded member of the paintball community and industry. Because of recent difficulties in the paintball industry and the $300,000 cost of the surgery Darryl and his family are facing a financial burden that might exceed $30,000 for Peyton’s heart surgery, which was performed this week.
I think we can help
I just got off the phone with Darryl's wife, Tracey, and she told me that Peyton is doing well and starting the recovery process. I have posted a few pictures of Peyton.
We know times are tough right now for lots of people who play and work in paintball. Personally I can’t imagine the stress that Tracey and Darryl are experiencing now and I hope your thoughts and prayers, like mine are for a swift and complete recovery for Peyton.
Paintballers for Peyton
We have setup a donation page so that you can help Peyton and her family with the financial costs of the heart surgery. Anyone that donates over $15 will receive a new Peyton Supporter badge as a small token of thanks for helping out.
PbNation will start off with a donation of $500.00. To donate, simply click the Donate button below, which will redirect you to Paypal.
THANKS!
Note: Remember to click the link labeled "Please enter your PbNation username" and enter your username on the donation page if you want to receive your badge. See the screenshot below for more information.
Help get the word out
A quick and easy way to spread the word on this is to use the button at the top of this thread. Just roll over the button and pick where you want to share. It works with 160+ websites such as Twitter, Facebook, Myspace and tons more.
Thanks again for your continued support!
All the best,
The Team at PbNation
100% of the proceeds (less any PayPal fees) from your donations will go directly to the Trent family.
This thread is about Peyton and her heart surgery and nothing else. No trolling or other comments will be tolerated in this thread.
$30,000+ – Congrats to the entire paintball community for coming to the aid of one of our own.
Truly an incredible and heartwarming response.
I wanted to share part of an email I received from Payton’s mom, Tracey:
Quote:
We are so honored to have had the support of our paintball family, and can't believe how the love and prayers have just poured in for Peyton.
I cannot quit talking about it to our friends and family, everyone is pretty blown away with the awesome-ness of it (is that a word?).
We can never begin to thank you (all) enough. An overwhelming burden has been lifted from our shoulders and we thank you.
The paintball community has shown its true colors and they are beautiful.
Much love and gratitude,
The Trent Family
On behalf of the entire PbNation membership, moderation staff and paid staff, we would like to thank ALL those that donated and also spread the word about Paintballer’s for Peton.
This has been an amazing and beautiful experience and really shows the world that the paintball community is made up of caring and giving individuals.
We are going to leave the thread and the donation window open for a few more days in case we have some stragglers that need to get their donations in.
Again great job everyone and we will be winding down the collection efforts on PbNation in the next few days.
Thanks to everyone that participated!
All the best,
The Team at PbNation

Reason: update
This is Darryl Trent's account and this is his wife, Tracey.
We were able to bring Peyton home yesterday afternoon, and just when we thought all of our tears were done falling, we get onto PbNation and see the love and support the paintball community is sending our way. Not only your financial generosity, but your generosity of spirit, is overwhelming to our family. It is no wonder Peyton is making huge strides in her recovery when this many people are involved! You have truly eased our burden and we cannot begin to express what a blessing you have given us.
Peyton is doing well and the doctors anticipate her recovery time to be 6 weeks. She has a small amount of fluid remaining around her heart and is slightly anemic, but for being 4 days out of open heart surgery she is great!
Thank you all so much, and please continue to keep Peyton in your thoughts and prayers.

10.15.09 Update
Thanks so much for all the positive comments and especially all the donations for Peyton. The response has been truly amazing and heart warming. The paintball community has come together and rallied around this little girl and her family.
We received this note from Darryl about Peyton.
Quote:
“Peyton was born October 21, 2002, days before World Cup, she celebrated her first birthday at World Cup and this surgery took place during World Cup.
She has attended many events and used to drive us crazy by putting the Dynasty Banana Balls in her mouth and trying to eat them as they smelled so good to her.
She is truly a paintball baby.”

We are downloading the PayPal transactions at the start of each day for the previous day to help with processing the tags. So we will be updating totals as soon as the afternoon of the next day and after we have downloaded and processed the PayPal transaction report
We are adding the tags to users manually so there is at least a 24 hr delay in getting them added to accounts. Thanks for your understanding.
The Team at PbNation would like to thank everyone who is helping out in raising the awareness of this issue to everyone you know by using the share tool at the top of the thread, emailing your friends and posting on your own web sites.
Great job.
All the best,
The Team at PbNation

Just donated the rest in PayPal. Great cause, and will be donating more when I get paid. Wish this little girl the best of luck, she looks like a great kid.
I gotta go give my little girl a hug. Be right back.
Seriously.

No Upping threads. If you have something to say, please do, but don't post in the thread just to take it to the top of the forum.
Do not post "1st post", "1st", "First post" or anything similar (or with any other number) at any point in a thread, even if you post a comment too. It is really annoying and it will result in a ban.
If you don't like something, say why instead of just calling it ugly, lame, gay or any other name. If it is old, simply post a link or report the post with a link to the older News thread.
Please don't post links for places to buy items. That encourages stores, sponsored players and other people to do it and spam the site.
