g5 bumper

DP is sending me a new bolt bumper. What adhesive should I use to put the new one on?

Good question. Sorry I missed this in the OT. I honestly don't know what would be best. I'm thinking superglue would work. I think those thread-line ridges do most of the work in keeping the bumper on, you just need a little something to keep the bumper from shifting, moving, and possibly working it's way off.

Theres ridges and its glued. DP was helpful in getting it off but not much to say about what to use for gluing it back on.

If you don't think superglue will do the trick, you could try one of those 2-part epoxy. Just be sure to carefully read the application details to make sure the one you get works on both metal (Al) and plastics.

That's what I was thinking of using.

Only down side is if you need to get that stuff off for whatever reason. Many are solvent resistant so.....cleaning it off could be a PITA.

Would silicone work? Easy to take of if needed.

Silicone will break down too easily. I wish they would tell me specifically what to use.

They would prolly tell you not to use anything. It's suppose to fit in there just right and such from what I understood.

There was an adhesive in there to start. I'm thinking I'm ok with permanent.
