Size of "splat" question

We have been told the material is denser, making up for its lack of volume in a 50. Lets assume its dense and thus heavy enough to have the same flight characteristics as a 68 ball. This is a major assumption and another whole question, but lets just assume it is. Furniture grade acrylic is almost that dense form what other people have said...

Regardless, how does less of a more dense material, travelling with the same energy (though our charts show it will have less this is another issue), create a larger "splat' on impact?

That is actually determined by the viscocity of the fill which also impacts the mass. Less viscous fill will cling more, think putty or old Pro Ball and create a smaller but thicker mark in the area a more viscous fill will spread more and splatter. It's a fine balance to get it thick enough to cover well but spray to create a larger mark, it's even more difficult for the smaller ball becuase they have considerably less volume to make up for more viscous fill and keep weight up.

Assuming everything else other than the volume is equal, expect it to be about 35% smaller in diameter.

I haven't picked a side on this issue yet but it is impossible for the size of splat to be the same if the volume is less. Its simple math.
