Lightbulb Church tournament?

Ok. so my cousin put me on his team for a church tournament where everyone is going to have mechanicals. Im a true tourney player with a new pm7. here are a few questions:

1. How much paint should I take?
2. What mode should I use?

I'm a back player so Im a paint waster so keep that in mind

I play with a lot of entry level players, those are the type to look out for. Sure you have a fast marker, but it only takes one good shot to get you out. I have a Ego 9 and most the guys I ball with have Tippmanns, Spyders, autocockers some have electros but it is very limited. Go out and have fun.

Don't be a jerk. Don't overshoot or bunker people if they are new.

Use a mechanical gun if everyone else is.

Wear your normal attire.

You have a great opportunity to turn some of these guys into regular players. Don't blow it.

if you're a true tourney player, why do you need to ask?

If it were me, (assuming the stakes weren't high) I'd make it a challenge. Try to do something to totally screw yourself over then see if you can overcome it. Trade guns with your cousin, play pump, play a man or two down, limit paint usage, 1ball check in, or pick the worst possible teammate.

or if you want go there and just dominate everyone (they will blame it on your gun)

well, as a back player, your job is to support your front players so they can get eliminations. Since everyone else is supposedly less skilled than you, this may be the worst strategy. your front players may not be any good and get offed rather quickly. Then it's just you.

I'd play mid. be orthodox too, no fancy stuff. Being newer players, you want to capitalize on their mistakes & force them to gun fight you if they will.

Send your fast player right & make sure the left side of the field doesn't get blown out. Almost everyone on the other side of the field will be focusing on your left side because they are probably right handed and that's the only side they can gunfight effectively.

Ohh, ok, you should have said so
woodsball is different, numbers usually matter more than in speedball

this really all depends on the field.

I'd wear something that blends in a little (especially for the mask)
if it's a big field & you see someone and don't know if they saw you or not then they 95% chance did.

you can play defensively if you have a good spot to defend
you can ambush if you have a good hit-N-run escape route
speed comes in handy if you can do something the other team doesn't expect you are capable of (out flanking).

everything in the woods is very general until you have the field in front of you to apply it to. I would hope for a small field where you can keep track of the other team members.

a case on semi would do for me, but I don't waste a lot of paint. I play mid/sometimes front.

Borrow one. There has to be somebody on your team or one of your friends who still has one.

I do enjoy me some woodsball tourney action. What we have our back speedball guys do in these type situations is play their normal role of a Heavy. Even with the mech, your role can stay the same. The fine art of keeping heads down, giving support, allowing your teammates to push and busting bunkers can be done with limited shots. Just keep steady pressure on the opposition. Play your game, just shoot less.

try this dont be a dick? if its all mech and new players dont rape on psp ramp? Btw i wear very bright different colored striped lounge shorts when i play. why? because there is no such thing as a paintball sniper. sure you can hide 5% longer before someone sees you but it's the same concept with a larger field. I have a virtued shocker it can rip through some paint but when i play on rec days I take it easy and one ball on semi only lettin out a stream once in a while if they get too brave lol :p go out have fun play semi. also try wearing something that stands waaay out trust me its really fun to run around woodsball fields while everyone stares at you like WTF?? if your a true "turny" player then standing out might help even the playing fields as well!

listen as a coach for a team that plays alot of scen and tornys this s what I tell the guys when we pratice and we have a ton of nods and walk ons. run in semi single shots only use your cover well. make your moves and make them count. work as a good team talk good and clearly. another thing is be patient alot of the nobs want be they are going to be reckless. sit and wait for them. it only takes a few times and they will get the jest of the whole tourny deal.
As a guy who plays back as a heavy gunner with a pinokio"400" rounds and 10 pods of paint i can lay down some cover for my guys to move forward. but like others said use your speedy guys for your front runnrs and make sure you have plenty of paint. I buy two cases of paint when we play on a sat . but as a team everyone needs to come together to buy paint all as a team its only fair.
Good luck and play cool and keep it simple!!!!
