Nothing. We just saw all the discussion and thought there should be a designated place for it.

Alot of discussion or did somebody open up their wallet to get a new .50 forum?
In all honesty whether that is the case or not, and whether that is the truth or not is something that is very important to our sport.

But I believe it was opened cause of increased discussion. Same reason why they separated the proto forum. It help keeps everything organized.
Heck, Theres been a .50 cal thread in almost every manufacturers subforum, why not make a .50 cal subforum for all of it to be put into. Makes perfect sense to me.

What’s with all the haters? This could possibly make paintball more affordable to play. Why would anyone in their right mind not want to save money? It seems to have little to no difference then .68 cal.
I’ve been playing for more then a decade, when I first started playing I could afford to play two times a week. Now I have a life, car payments, insurance, a mortgage, a kid, a family to support, I’m lucky if I get to play twice a month. When some of you grow up maybe you’ll understand.

They keep changing the paint first it was the First strike (that rapes any other paint), then it was the 40cal spyder now its the 50cal. All this is going to do is screw over paintball players. Its not going to save them money if they have $1000+ worth of obsolete paintball guns. I have a PMR and a TM15 and it doesn;t look like there is a conversion kit for either. Even if there is Its going to cost me $100+.

.50 cal is not going to replace .68 cal. (only if it can shoot on par with.68 calor better, but not likely) It is just another option for people to use. It will not end/ruin our sport. It has great potential to get new and old players involved. More people playing paintball the better regardless what size paint they are using.

.50
As being one of the minimal people to actually shoot a .50 marker, there are still many questions that I want to ask.
The markers we used in the KL .50 cal "tourny" (if you want to call it that) were sadly hot to trot, so none of us were actually able to get an idea of if they are going to be any good.
We were only given 20 rounds each, which also sucked because none of the paint was going anywhere unless you did a suicide run (which I may or may not of done) but the paint did actually show up, which seems to be what a lot of people seem to be stressing about
We had been told about how well they actually shot by the guys who had shot them the day before. They were lucky to only be shooting 350 not over 400 like we were.
There needs to be more .50 cal shoots before anyone should diss, so be patient and wait, have a shot then make up your mind. Can't be scared of something new, or paintball will never move foreward

What makes you think that "minimal" (I'm guessing you mean few) people have shot .50cal markers? Not for nothing, but .50cal isn't new.

Basically Procaps got pissed and Italia had to sign a non-compete clause with regards to .68 cal paintball. This is his way of saving his stake in the business. It has nothing to do with any actual benefit for paintballers, field owners, etc. It's a way for Italia to get his grubby little fingers on some more moolah. And if it ****s up the industry at all? He really doesn't care, he's used to causing trouble, and/or dealing with other low lives that do the same.
