SE Event #1: Rebel Open Feedback!!!
I thought this would be good for everyone to leave any suggestions, comments, complaints, and/or concerns about the event so that if we can host again next year, we can address them and make it even BETTER!!!
Thanks again to all the teams that showed up and played great paintball! Thanks to CHF and Outbreak for making everything possible!

Everything ran really well to be honest. If I could pick out any detail though it would be some of the penalties were a bit more relaxed then I'd like it to be. But overall honestly it was a great turnout. Games ran SUPER quick and everyone knew what they were doing as far as the field staff goes. This was my first tournament so I can't truly compare to anything else, but this is just what was passed around in the KSU tents. Also, the field was really nice, especially the grass, but it would have been better if it was better leveled.. can't really complain though.

I'm sure that I speak for all of FGCU when I say this, but this was the best NCPA event (other then nationals) that we have attended in the past 3 years... The field was top notch, the refs were experienced players (thank god), and everything ran smoothly... We would like to say thanks to Ole Miss and the staff at CHF for hosting such a nice event...
And a note for Ole Miss, we can't wait to meet you on the field again...

On behalf of Georgia Tech, I'd like to thank everyone for making out first NCPA event truly enjoyable. Even starting the event an hour later, every team was able to go through 8 games in about 3 hours, something I've never seen before. The grass was great and the bunkers pristine. The only improvement I could ask for would be better adherence to penalty rules (specifically asking for paint checks on obvious hits).

I didn't play, but I still have feedback. The players and refs were nice and didn't shoot the photographer. The site is top notch.

Thanks for all of the kind words , so far, regarding the reffing. We treid our best to make informed and correct calls.
We certainly weren't trying to be "relaxed" with the calls. But, we also wanted to be sure that if we were going to give a penalty, that it was deserved. We as a team/group of friends have been to alot of "local" or "smaller" tournaments where one BS call made by a ref can keep you out of finals. And, we didnt want that to happen on our watch.
But, we will definitely be more diligent with the paintchecks next time if CHF is lucky enough to host another NCPA. I think I know what Shark6428 is talking about...someone took a facehit and asked for a paintcheck.
On another note, you guys were easy and enjoyable to ref. I expected drama, controversy, and and to be yelled at. But, everyone at the tournament was mature and respectful. Which, is more than I can say about many players, even myself on occasion, towards refs. So, thanks to everyone for being so cool and allowing us to run a good tournament.

Beau, and all the other Outbreak/Memphis guys, thanks a ton for reffing. I wouldn't really want to do it but ya'll made the games go quick and smooth and another great NCPA event under our belt.

Hopefully we will see ya'll again soon. We are not sure about the Clemson event yet. We have roughly 10 guys rostered so if 5 want to get up and go they are welcome to it. We will get it all settled eventually. Haha.

I was extremely impressed with this event. It was my first NCPA event and was very happy with how it was run. The refs were great and everything ran very smoothly and quickly. My only complaint was that the refs were very lax about some things. I ref the GFOA series in Georgia and saw a number of things that should have been called. One of which was a player not tagging up on the box by half a foot, the ref telling the player to "tag up" 3 times, and then still allowing the player to continue playing after the breakout. Other than that, I really enjoyed the event and would not mind making the drive out to the field again.

The head ref made a mistake in the scores at first. If you took a picture of the appa printout that the ref had then those scores were wrong. Check appa now.

Yes, I made an error when I first entered the scores into APPA. The error was caught so I went back and double checked everything by the score sheets and it was only one error but it did make a seeding difference for the semi finals so it was a good thing it was caught before we got started.
Thanks to all the teams for showing good sportsmanship at this event. I have played a lot of local and national events in my 11 years of paintball and this was one of the best behaved groups of teams I have ever seen. You all represented your schools well. I look forward to hosting another NCPA event in the future.
Thanks,
Robert Foster
