Noob here in Florida - advice and pointers needed

Hey fellow paintballers, my name is mike I'm from central Florida.
I started out as a rec player, well I still am.

I started out playing woodsball, got me a tippmann x7 with egrip and flatlie barrel. Woods ball because I was scared to get shot and being I had no gears but rentals it hurts and sucks. Now that I get the concepts of it and all I have since then upgraded to a dm9/rotor etc and it's sweet!

I really want to get better an really get into it but it seems everywhere I go there is a fine line between noobs and pros.

Any advice as how to get better? How did you guys go from rec to pro?

Any one around here have an inviting flcrew for me to join and learn?

It seems like the pros around here rather not have a noob like me on their team so I'm usually getting destroyed and walking off not knowing any better.

Any advice is appreciated, thanks

Play with rec players who are considered "Noobs" until you feel your one of the better rec players.
Then find a new lower ranked team and start playing Beginner/D5 tournaments.
Oh and just practice whenever you can.

Snap shooting,1v1's,2v2's,Running and Gunning, etc...

Good luck

Goto your local ball field I would say like CFP, or Hypersports. Talk to those guys tell them you wanna play tourney ball. Show up every weekend get to know the people, paintballers are a rare group they will start teaching and coaching you once they know you, then you practice your butt off to get better, getting wrecked is getting better. Talk to the field owners, staff it will take you a few weeks for them to get to know you are serious, just keep going keep playing then before long you will be the one wreaking the noobs..

Are you wanting to move into Speedball, or are you wanting to move up into Scenarioball?

If you are wanting to stay in the woods but play at a higher level, try going to some of the big games in the area. Any game by Duncan or at Wayne's World is going to be a good Scenario game.

PM me if you want more info on up coming games, and you can come run with my team if you just want experience. We even have our own field over here in Cocoa.

Head out to CFP if you're close to it, nice people, and if nobody else does, I will take some time to talk to you and show you a few things.

wen i was a rec baller, i watched alot of d2 teams practice, saw how they kept their comunication going, their laning. sometimes i would join in their drills and that helped me alot to better my skills. but it hurt alot too. also wen i was bored at home. i would go on youtube and watch videos on pros playing.. saw how held the wires. backs talked to the fronts alot and defintely what helped me alot was practice laning, talking it up always, n snap shooting.

Well said. Another thing is making every time you play count. Getting smashed and playing again without learning what you did wrong won't help you, at least very quickly.

If you do something that gets you shot, or made you lose, think about what you did exactly and what you can do to prevent that from happening next game/point. Having someone that knows what they're doing talking to you and helping you helping you with this speeds up the process of improving greatly.

Watching videos and looking for certain things (Which bunkers where taken off break, how did they get there without getting shot if it's a hard bunker to make, how was their form/footing while playing a bunker, etc.)

You live by where cup is going to be played. Its at Fantasy of Flight go and watch and if you have the money pay to watch the pros and study how they play each bunker, how they breakout and other things.

It's wednesday through sunday. Finals are always on sunday, but I'm pretty sure D1 and D2 play on wednesday, but I'm not sure. D3-D5 5 man is typically friday to sunday, or saturday to sunday if finals are made.
