How come my A.I.R. is empty after 3 months??

Late August I filled my A.I.R. to 3500~ psi. My Angel LCD and the A.I.R. sat in the basement for about 3 months. (Disconnected from the gun and the A.I.R. output is turn off, turn screw CCwise)
Yesterday I charged my LCD up, and look at my A.I.R. and the output said LO PSI. All the gas was gone. How did the gas escape??? 3 months and I lost 3000+ psi.
Help me out please. Do I have a defective A.I.R?? How do I fix it??

Thanks

You may have a bad seal, or if its new, you may need to use it a little bit to break in the seals. I wouldn't worry right now, and don't keep it filled for months with out use. If it was leaking enough to empty in a couple days. Then I would worry. You could see with some soapy water if its leaking at the fill nipple or somewhere else.

Correct me if I'm wrong. But I think over time all Compressed air tanks will loose something. Also correct me if I'm wrong but I thought you weren't suppose to keep a tank full for that long of a time on any system you buy.

I also have a back up gun(AC2k) and HPA tank (flatline 3000psi 68K). I filled the tank to 3000psi in August and to this day the gauge read 3000psi.

I bought the A.I.R. in March 2001. I been using it once a month until August 2001. But I never notice it was leaking till now.

What seals are you talking about??

I try some soapy water, dont notice any leak (fill the tank back up).

You did fill it up before you checked it with soap? If so, that means the leak is in the regulater itself. There is seals inside the reg. Orings and such. You can rebuild it or just leave it alone. Depends on how bad you want to fix it.
MSMFC, yes you are right about not keeping them full.

Get one of the Cobra or Warped Sportz inline on/offs and you will not have this problem. I also found it frustraiting when I would fill my tank on Saturday to play Sunday and loose 1000psi over night. Once I got the on/off I do not loose any air at all.

I specifically asked Frazier at ZAP if it was a problem having an on/off and leaving air in your tank. He said it was not a problem. I also know from Diving that it is a bad thing to leave a tank empty because it can corode inside.

Rosey and I got teched at the World Cup on the Angel Air and John Rice explained the problem and solution. It is very simple.

After degassing the tank, Remove the top portion of the AIR reg. There will be 2 O-rings on either corner of the 2nd portion. You need to get to (B.B.s) S.S. Balls that most Angel Tech stations will be carrying or will be carrying soon. Place the BBs on top of the O-Rings. Connect the two havles and you are good to go, No more small leaks.

We will be getting some of those BBs in a couple of weeks when our order comes in. Warped Sports might have them by now.

ThanX

Wonder what name WDP will come up with for these:

Quote:
You need to get (B.B.s) S.S. Balls
Angel AIR Balls, AIR Nads, AIR Tank Jewels?
