What year was the best?

I've heard numerous people argue over which DM model has been the best over the past 5 years. What do you all think?

In so much as I like to be able to access the eyes externally (have eye covers in other words), and the fact that I'm not overly enamoured with the look of the Hyper3, then I would go with the DM7. Plus it was the first DM with fully functional self cleaning eyes - the DM6 eye windows not being entirely successful.

If I were to ignore my preference for having eye covers, and not be such a tart about how the marker's reg looks, then I would happily go with the DM9. The adjustable trigger rake is a nice addition, the eye tubes have been improved further, the on marker on/off has been removed etc. I also think that it is overally a very nice looking marker - the Ironman version even more so.

i would say dm6 i have seen dm8 and 9's have more kick than mine and i get +-2 on the chrono right out of the box , i bought a dm6 and a rotor for 300 and 2 xbox games but the dm6 has only had 2 bags through it and ive put about 10 cases through it and its awesome,and about the eyes they have worked fine with me but then again i havent never chopped a ball even using crapppy paint

im not just saying this b/c i own one but i still have yet to shoot a dm4/5

i have owned or a close friend has owned( and i tech friends guns) 2 dm6s, 1 dm7, 3 dm8s, 1 dm9

i like the dm8 and dm9 the best, but also ever new matrix i got, i got a little better at setting them up

By far the DM7. I can tell you with a high degree of certainty that every single person who voted for the DM6 has never had a DM7. I've said it before and I'll say it again: They fixed the eyes with the DM7 with the eye pipe. Everything since then has been minor. The DM7 was, in my opinion, by far the best year.

ive never had a chop or eye problem with my dm6 and ive put 10 cases thru it some crappy paint also and it did just fine

As far as aesthetics go, the DM9 is my favorite.

In the performance department, I choose the DM7.

Shocktech DMs are great. I've never had a problem with any of my DM4s or 5s. I'm not a big fan of the UL frames (Heresy! Sacrilege! I know...), so I'd have to go with DM5, since DM4 isn't on your list.

dm7 by far. least problems. dm6 had problems, dm8 had problems, and dm9s arent much different besides a few small things and prices.

I love not having eye covers because the way Dye designed it, you don't really need them.

For whatever reason, I really like the DM8...but since they removed the on/off under the barrel and added the new detents and rake trigger, I'll go with the DM9.

I wish the older style trix'es were on here despite there size and weight I think some of them shot as good or better than anything on the market now. For esthetics its hard to deny the DM7 has the looks of the family, I do however like some of the features of the 9. In all my vote went with the 7.

I'd vote seven because IMO it was the last matrix before dye's designs got a little too edgy for me. Also I actually like the on/off on the front of the gun. That being said I'd take any matrix.
