hey guys, just got back to the hotel about 30 min ago...(end-of-day cleanup)

i made a report with the loudon county sherrifs department, and i am in the process of calling all of the credit card companies to cancel my cards.

i also need to call the airline, to see what exactly i need to do in order to get on the plane.

i am also going to try calling apple (thanks kyle), but i believe the phone needs to be on to locate it, and my phone remains turned off.

if anyone has info on this matter, please come forward...obviously everything except the photos can be replaced, but thats besides the point.

this is really low and extremely embarassing that such a degenerate would choose to do this when we bring a national event to DC. Unfortunately for us, the "Beat and Release" program was dropped in Loudon County by the police a while ago. Fortunately for us though, we're not the police. We need to find this guy.

Hey Apple can track a any phone (Turned on or not) they send a Ping to it and the only way to not be able to get it is if the battery is taken out. They use 3 radio towers to triangulate the phone. My uncle works for Rogers Wireless and when phones get stolen the person who's phone was stolen contacts them and they triangulate it for them and the police end up getting involved.

little known fact, it only needs to have the battery in it, shouldnt need to be on. cells are "on" when the battery goes in it.

this is a pretty good indicator of the kind of people we can attract into our sport. WHEN they track your phone, stick it in and break it off in this kid's ***.... i kinda hope he/she tries using a credit card too. Good luck.

When will people realise just how small the PB community is, why are you taking from one of your own? Especially someone like Frank, who has been a great service to paintball over many damn years.

Correct, the phone doesn't have to be on to track it. There are some mobsters sitting in jail right now that learned that lesson when their phones were remotely activated. Hopefully apple will play ball and assist the Loudoun Co. Police and track the phone and get the contents back. Also, even if you have to get a new phone, you can replace the pictures. When your iPhone backs up (during each sync) it copies over your contacts/photos/etc. to your HD. When you sync the new phone be careful you don't overwrite that file but it should, if done correctly, pull the old information into the new phone.

I really hope the police department does the job they get paid to do. Usually, on small cases like this they dont go through the trouble of have a phone located & tracking the person down. good luck though man, fck the guy/girl that stole ur stuff!

I used to work for Apple. Call in and tell them it has gone missing along with alot of important things and you need is tracked ASAP or get a police officer to do it and they have to track that phone. I'm sorry to hear this happened especially at a Pro event.

This is really unfortunate, i heard this over the intercoms yesterday. Some people are spine-less and are sorry excuses for humans and degenerates of our society. The paintball community shouldnt have to suffer to the likes of D-baggs who steal guns and gear. Pathetic. I really hope the perp is caught and disciplinary action is taken.

helpful suggestion, cancel your credit cards and your phone so whoever stole it can't use them. it will also save you a lot of trouble if they decide to start buying things.

Another option would be to go to the Apple store in the Fair Oaks mall or Tysons Corner malls with a cop and see if they can do it asap. Both are relatively close to the field.
