Myself, my sister, and my brother just moved to AT&T so that 2 of us could get iPhones.
Normal price for iPhones is $299 each for the models that we got, and then my brother picked out a phone with a 2 year contract price of $199 minus a $50 rebate where u have to pay for one month of $25 data service to qualify. Also, each of the 3 lines is supposed to have a $26 activation charge.
AppleCare is $70
MobileMe is $100 minus $30 MIR
the iFrogz iPhone cases that we got sold for $29.99
the car chargers sold for $29.99
the screen protector kits sold for $9.99
-I paid for the 2 iPhones, 2 AppleCares, and 2 MobileMes
-had all activations waived
-had an additional $15 credited to my account
-got 2 sets of any iPhone case in the store, car chargers, and screen protector kits for free
-got the $199 phone for free without having to do any rebates
the key here I think is the free phone we got. After jumping through some hoops of sending in a rebate and having to remember to cancel a data subscription before they would start billing me for the next month I could have gotten it for $175. I negotiated it down to $150 minus the rebate (so net $125) just on the basis of buying 3 phones including 2 iPhones before I even agreed to buy the applecare and MobileMe. But they kept pushing the AppleCare and MobileMe and telling me that I would get those accessory bundles for free if I bought both... So I told them that I would do it if they gave me the third phone for free.
Seemed like a good deal. If you figure it as me having paid $125 for that third phone, which I was about to do, then it's like for each iPhone I paid $77.50 after the rebate on MobileMe to get AppleCare, MobileMe, a decent case, a car charger, and screen guards. Not even includig that I got the activations waived and that semi-random $15 credit.
