Favorite Steak Houses
best steak house I've ever been to has got to be Peter Lugers (NY) followed by Cut (LA), Wolfgangs (NY), and Grill 23 (Boston). What steak houses do you guys prefer?

I would say that about 98% of the black people I serve get their steaks prepared well done and ask for A1. Who the **** does that to a beautiful, 10oz filet? And at that price! My goodness!

A1 sauce could onyl be used on ****ty steaks. A1 on a filet is blasphemy.
The best steak I have had was a Filet Mignon in Nepenthe in Big Sur, CA. If you ever want to get in a girl's pants with a romantic dinner and your in the Monterey Bay area, take her there.
edit:
I'm not sure if it would be considered a steakhouse though. The best "true" steakhouse I've been to would have to be Morton's.

10 ozs are for wimps.
coulda eaten my whole 28oz poterhouse and then some last time i was at schlessingers, but im watching my weight.
you know you have a good steakhouse when they cook your steak the way you ask for it. most places cook medium rares as medium, so i asked for rare at schlessingers hoping for medium rare and it was red as hell lol. guess i shoulda known.

I always go to pretty good ones when I'm in Manhattan, but the Best I've been to is Bones in Atlanta.
Other top places are Ben Benson's in NYC, Del Frisco's, Churrascaria Plataforma in West Midtown, and a couple others.
Ruth's Chris and Morton's are both fairly good as well. Also, a great restaurant, Ray's on the River, in Atlanta is really known for incredibly fresh and delicious seafood, but they had excellent filets last time I was there as well.

J. Alexander's. I guess it's not REALLY a true steakhouse, but that's what everyone gets anyways.

I like to cook steaks at home but unfortunately steakhouses simply have equipment that would make it impossible to match. First they have aging rooms for their meat, and then even I went to a luxury butcher and bought aged meat, then they have super-high-heat broilers that they use to char the steak. I think that Ruth Chris' chars their steaks at 1800*F. Can't do that on my grill lol.
As far as restaurants... Chicago has great steak. We have all the national names like Ruth Chris and Morton's, and then a bunch of local places that i like a lot better.

Ahhh, you have a good tongue. I totally forgot about churrascarias. Churrascarias are AMAZING. I've been to a number of good ones, but for the best you have to go to Brazil (I'm Brazilian so I am lucky enough to have tried some of the best )
