After the first scenario game i went to about 3 years ago, I was hooked. Then i seen the launchers a couple of guys had, I made up my mInd to get my own.
After looking for days online at countless factory and homemade launchers and HOW-TO guides, I set out to make my own. I couldnt afford the $300+ lauchers and hated the look of the all PVC homemade lauchers I combined the both.
My launcher is all aluminum except the barrel, trigger frame, and valve housing. the reason for aluminum and all the hassle of welding was to make it look professional built and be solid and sturdy. Alot of scenario games dont allow homemade pvc plastic launchers
THIS IS NOT A HOW-TO GUIDE, JUST A SUMMARY OF MY PROJECT
Starting from the rear of the laucher is the aluminum holding tank. where there is and pressure gauge, safety valve, and fitting to use and paintball High press. reg.
Next is the valve assembly. i used a rain bird 3/4 in. electric sprinkler valve. I modified the valve from electric to pnuematic. this assembly is cover by aluminum tube to match the holding tank.
Next is the aluminum breech and pvc barrel. i also have a aluminum barrel but the pvc is lighter and the I.D. inside diameter is tighter allow greater efficency. i made this launcher a breech loader of obivious reasons.
The trigger frame is a Proto pmr frame. i gutted the electronics and put in a pnuematic valve that triggers the main valve. The buckles you see are used to attach to my specops broadsword vest.
I get around 250 300 feet at 85-90 psi.
