Does your Victory need a donut?

During the last month, I've seen a couple of friends Victories experience just what some of the owners here have been dealing with:

Poor consistency, along with the occasional experience of it going full-auto, severe leaks down the barrel, and a weak velocity ceiling.

These problems are most likely due to valve stick.
The main valve seal, (Teflon donut) has swelled to the point where it is causing abnormal and inconsistent operation of the firing sequence.

After some research and testing, it was found that a run of teflon seals showed a variation of 5/1000", normal design specifications for this components were to limit the degree of variation to 2/1000".
Factors such as having one component tolerances off by as little as 3/1000", the current summer heat and too tight of seal/valve fit resulted in poor performance.

During the last month, I myself recommended stretching the main spring to compensate for the aforementioned phenomenon.
I do not recommend doing this anymore!
If you haven't done it yet, don't, save yourself from having to obtain another stock unmodified valve spring.

I now recommend that if you are experiencing the sticky valve problem, is to call BLAST and request a new teflon donut.
We have done some sorting of teflon seals and have set aside some Victory specific versions as a solution for owners exeriencing these problems.

So call the shop, if it sounds like you need it and they'll send you a new Victory specific teflon donut.
BLAST 925 625-7929

When installing makesure the side with the inside beveled edge, (it's very slight, but you be able to see in good light or even feel the difference), is facing out to meet the blast guide on the valve.

FYI, this whole episode has spawned the idea of a new Victory/Marq Supercharger Kit, details coming soon!

If we already stretched our spring will this cause other issues, or are we okay with the stretched spring.

I just called Blast and talked to Jason, he said that they don't actually have any at the shop right now and that they will have more info on how to get one next Wed.
He aslo said that the new "donuts" are going to be made out of a different material that will be less likely to have tolerance issues and should allow for a great range of adjustibility.
And if you stretched your spring you'll need a new one.

Okay guys, send me your addy, and I'll makesure they go out.
Email me here thru the drop down menu here on the Nation.
Need your name, address and if you've stretched your spring.

There seems to be some confusion, the shop is deep into the move, but I can handle some of this stuff remotely.

Send me your info and I'll do my best to get these out asap.

this is why Bob Long Technologies are the best company in paintball. They create great products and then back them 100%. Still improving on things is what this shows. This is why I tell my players and everyone that I know that I loved all my BL products. The customer service is top notch.
