Correct, black smoke is unburnt fuel. But don't be fooled because there is smoke, doesn't mean there is power....

Mike what does your truck run in the quarter and why so much turbo? I would think an S400 would be pleanty...

idk never ran the quarter mile it has the hp but i did it because i wanted alot of torque
for pulling stuck graders and work trucks out of ditches on the job

The problem is, the manufacturers don't see much of a case for it right now. If people are still willing to pay the ~$10,000 premium to get those big diesels, then they'll probably be willing to pay the ~$5,000 to get the smaller ones...so it makes economic sense. They aren't going to bring something out that just looses money right out of the box.

I wouldn't run at the track without ladder bars, your sure to break something, that truck would be hoppin everywhere.

I just recently got back from a Cummins school, mainly pertaining to new emissions. SCR, the use of Urea, ect. It's going to be interesting in the next couple of years.
