Another bent RAPS lever..!

My original RAPS level bent slightly so it didn't sit flush with the body of the RAPS. No problem, I must have damaged it while playing right? I ordered another one from DP, installed it, and took it out to play with for the day. I came home and realised that the replacement level was bent in the exact same way after a single days worth of play in the woods. I didn't bang the marker in any way and I've got the same problem. Has anyone else having the same problem? This is starting to piss me off..

I dont understand how you could be bending this lever. I have owned a lot of DP markers and I have never had this issue come up. As a matter of fact, I have never heard of it that I can remember. Can you post up some pics? That way I have a better idea of how it is bent.

you have to be diving or hitting it on something hard to bend it. Metal doesnt bend mysteriously by itself....unless of course your playing on the sun

it won't get hot enough to bend the metal unless hes playing in like 200 degree heat or leaves it in a hot car

I have no idea how this is bending. I haven't been diving, banging the marker on the ground, or leaving the marker in a blast furnace. I'll post some pictures tomorrow when I get home from work..

The lever is fine when you first get it right? If so, than something you are doing is bending it. Like swayed said, metal just does not bend by itself.

The level sat flush with the raps body at the beginning of the day. The gun was aired up about a half a dozen times that day and now looks like the one I replaced the previous night. The only thing I can think of is that its bending when I'm using the level to gas the gun up, even at that I'm not experiencing any noticable resistance.

I can't bend spoons with my finger either btw..

You must be twisting it somehow when you air up/down the gun ... but why are you doing it several times a day? Why not just air up before you play and air down when your done?

Its not a twist in the lever, its a bend. I'll flip the lever to de-gas the gun as a game ends and walk off the field for an air fill.

I agree Intense, I flip the lever on for the day and then again off at the end of the day. That is what Bob recommends on his markers and I have just always followed that.

is there air in your tank when your noticing the lever isnt sitting flush? im willing to bet there isnt. put some air in your tank and flip on your raps and see if its still not flush. thats how mine is.

Well, if the push pin has force on it, its pushing on the lever, which would make it sit flush. If its the other way around, I've got nothing.

is it possible that while the lever is open in between games you have set it down so there is pressure on the lever hyperextending it past the point it should sit at with the marker degassed? like standing it up and leaning it on something with the marker degassed and have something pushing the open lever further towards the trigger guard than it is meant to?
