Yes, you first must buy a WD BEVS or BEVT hard drive, I bought a 120GB BEVT here http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136373
Then you need to buy a hdd case or use your old one (I bought mine from dealextreme.com).
After you have those things you need to flash the drive, you can find tutorials online on how to do it. You also need some computer knowledge because you'll most likely have to change some BIOS settings (boot priorities) and you'll have to open your computer case.

I successfully flashed the 120GB BEVT drive using hddhackr v.91, MS DOS 6.22, and I downloaded the hddss.bin file from http://beta.ivancover.com/wiki/index..._Drive_Upgrade <----- Has a nice tutorial also.
wow, thanks

that seems way too time consuming and i'd probably screw something up anyway.

damn 360 hdd

well I made a boo-boo and purchassed two "xbox live gold kits" which is 3 month subscription, headset, and 400 point card for $30. I thought it was a decent deal since I wanted a headset anyways, but I found out only after that only the person with a live account can use a headset but not guests.

is there any real benefit(other than voice in live) to having more thsan one xbox live acct set up? I mean, in reality it's only $4-7/month to have a live account so it's not a big deal at all, but is there any reason we should each have seperate live accounts?

Guess it depends on your situation. If you plan on either having a friend play live with you and still track progress and whatnot, sure; but if it's just an occasional thing, just use both the subscription cards on the same account. Or you could use one account to be a general jerk online, team kill, loud music, ect. It's great fun sometimes.

my roomate will be playing with me a LOT of the time, at least for the next few months it looks like. so perhaps for 3 months at least it makes sense for him to sign up for live as well.

another question, are the points you get for achievements the same as the "microsoft points" for buying stuff in the store?

yeah, it's kind of annoying and you always have points left over (usually).

you can buy them through the console too, but i'm always on the lookout for deals on points lik eon amazon and such

i like the ps3 much better...you pay actual $ and as long as it's over $5, you can pay the exact amount. if it's like $2 for a rock band song, you have to add at least $5 if you don't have any, but i usually end up buying multiple things at once and you have the cart to checkout all at once, not one item at a time.

so much better than the damn M$ points

One of the many reasons I don't buy console games anymore, I let my brother buy stuff and bum it off him. I still pay for a live subscription, but paying more and more for map packs is ridiculous when they're mediocre maps; it's just not worth the price.

yeah the only issue is SOMEONE will pay for them so I'll have to eventually or I'll never be able to play games.

like in halo 3, I can't play ranked matches cause everyone uses maps I don't have lol

other than xbox arcade games, is there anything worthwhile to spend points on? I'm thinking of picking up 5k-10k points on eBay if I'm actually going to use them.

edit: I plan on getting rock band/2 at some point so i assume the song packs make it worth it?

Depends on the game. Some are worth it some aren't. With the exception of the horse armor, everything for Oblivion is worth buying. If you have an excess of points, you'll find a way to spend them on something: movies, arcade games (worms and marble blast are good), tv shows, ect. Check around different site to see if people think the DLC for a game is worth it.
