I agree with all of your points. I think it's mostly on the internet though - which still pisses me off. On any give day I play, I'll use my pump, my electro, and my mech cocker, in the woods or speedball. I see no reason to limit myself to one type of gun or playing format. A lot of people see a reason, and it's only to their disadvantage.
There are things you can do with a semi that you can't do with a pump. Simple as that. There are people you can't beat unless you have a semi in your hands, at least consistantly. (flame-suit equipped ) A lot of people on here will probably come and call bull**** on that statement - but when was the last time you played against a real, talented tourney player? They are just as good at snapshooting/gun-battling, and they have a firepower advantage. Last time I did the math on that, the tourney player came out on top.
For this reason, I still use an electro, and will continue to do so in the right circumstances. A lot of people on this forum are of the mindset that it takes no skill to use anything but a pump. I say they are playing the wrong people.

I agree I choose not to play semi because its jus to expensive . What I spend on a top of the line (ccm baby!) Pump gun , its only half the price of a eclipse or dye gun . Then the bells and whistles is another arm and a leg . So to me I'm saving a whole lotta money this way , and to me nothing like one balling a fool in the face lol !

too many flaws in your post Pump...I play pump only cause i cant afford to play semi because of paint costs and i still get respect from semi, mechanical players and ive actually converted some semi players to try out pump. The only reason this forum has separated threads for pumps/semi is because information is easier to find when its organized that way. So what are you saying? That EVERYONE should have both a pump and a semi? Please...dont be ridiculous. There is nothing wrong with only playing pump or only playing semi...

I hate tiny arse lil kid bunkers every field uses these days, hey some of us are full grown adults and like to play and be able to actually stand up too. I think there should be only one division of paintball players Cheats and Non Cheats. This is where most problems start in our game/sport. -end old guy rant-

That's exactly it!
I don't see why people try to hate on the opposite style of play, speed or woods. Either way, it's going to be paintball. Why does it matter how we choose to play it?
I play national events, and I play scenarios every onces in a while. Thing is, I wear the same gear to both. Team jersey with some empire Houndog LTD pants. So generally, people will see me and think I'm a "speedballer" and think I hate woodsball. I can't even count the amount of times I was playing pump with some walkons, and some guy comes up to me ranting about me knowing nothing about scenario games.
Sorry for getting OT. But as for the topic, I don't see why there is a reason to HATE pump only players. Like I said before: Either way, it's going to be paintball. Why does it matter how we choose to play it?

I haven't seen a whole lot of this up here. The pupmpers up here give semi's a hard time and put them to shame quite often. Plus attitudes are not so bad up in these parts.

where im from most of the players play both styles... depends on the people that go... if most people there are playing pump well switch to pump, people with electros, we switch to that. but sometimes we have fun and do pump vs electros those are always fun

The Chicago area is horrible when it comes to accountable players who have dignity and respect for the sport and those playing. I don't think I've seen one game where somebody didn't wipe a hit. Everybody is like "I'm the ****, i'm the ****, I'm the ****, hit..not going out, I'm the ****, overshoots those guys, wipe again, run through and get shot 20 times and play on, talk **** to those who play woodsball, show off my $1000 gun" ect. There are the older crowds that I hang out with, because they play to play..not to hurt others or only to win. Although I am better than most of them, all is good, because I'm not obliged to play to shut up some arrogant jerks..it's all in the name of fun.
I got to wis to play most of the time. Nicer people, honest people, friendly players, awesome atmosphere, always have fun in cheese land

You hate people who play the sport the way they like to play it? And THEY are the immature ones?
Mmmmkay.
I have played pump only for the last 3 years, and that's all I'll be playing in the foreseeable future. I'll be damned if someone tries to tell me I'm wrong for playing how I want to.

haha I hear you on that. I played over at badlandz when I moved to Chicago for work 5 years ago and after playing there a few times I just started driving back up to southeaster wi a couple times a month. It's amazing how many asshats could be squeezed into such a small place. Now I live in WI again so it's all good. You should PM me some time when you are going to make a trip up and we can play some pump ( or not pump).

With as many variations of gear and ways to play paintball, you're always gonna have those who find 1 way/thing they like and stick with it & they may think that everyone who doesn't play it their way sucks. But really it sucks for them cause they're probably missing out on some good play. If they feel comfortable with a certain way of playing, so be it. Maybe they had a bad experience playing another way and just want to stick with what they like. Even if they're being a total dick and hating on a certain way of playing (which happens alot on the net, yes), who cares?
Personally, I like playing pump cause being overshot means you may get 1 or 2 extras, not getting lit up. And its cheaper. But I still love playing w/ my angel and ego in some balls-to-the-wall speedball games.
We all play because we like to play, not cause we're being forced to. Most people I know appreciate any and all ways to play. Give me a gun, some paintballs, and someone to shoot at, and I'm a happy camper.

I've definitely played in that kind of atmosphere, and it really sucks. It's like they're living in a dream-world in their own heads - as long as they're mowing people down, they're gods in their minds - never mind how many hits they took on the way down the field. I've stopped just short of asking some of those players exactly "what the **** it takes to get you out?" "Do only index finger hits count today?" And yet they just have the biggest egos (not the gun) you could imagine.
On a lighter note - I played speedball all day today with a few experienced players and a lot of noobs. Everyone had a great time, nobody got lit up, and I didn't see one wipe. I even got a few of them interested in pump play. It must be nice to have other pumpers to play against....
