RedAkuma seems to have decent results. 13 pods is more than enough I'd say.

I recieved my spring today. I have not had time to test it yet, but I will post my results when I do. I can tell you, when I fired a few balls, there is a noticeable differance indeed. Lower Kick, and smoother shot. As well as a different sound signature.

Whether it's a spring, a poppit, or what-have-you, the same physics apply.
Seems 200ish psi and a dwell of 8ms (varies, but that's a ballpark) is the best efficiency point for most stacked tube poppit guns. You drop that 50psi, you need the valve open longer. Either by mechanical means (lp poppit) or by upping the dwell on the gun.
::edit::
I guess the reason a weaker return spring would up the fps of a legend is because it's not restricting the ram as much. It was popular amongst BKO owners a while back to put their fasor return springs in a vice so they were compressed, hit them with a torch for a bit, and leave them for a day. The idea was to weaken them, allowing for lower hpr levels, smoother shot, and letting them shoot brittle paint. BUT they still lost efficiency. It's not a huge deal. You're talking a pod. But still, it's hard to believe a claim that you can lower your hpr, keep your dwell, and have no change in efficiency. The balance is off. But whatever. Enjoy your magic springs.

There is no ballpark number for poppet guns(or any gun for that matter). Each and every one is different. Whether it be the valve spring, valve flow, noid type or other factors you can achiever similar results with a variety of different settings, designs and parts. Lower pressure doesn't always mean less efficiency. If you can find the right settings it is very possible to run a gun at lower pressures while still maintaining or increasing efficiency. It takes less than 100 psi to propel a paintball to 300ish fps using current types of barrels. The limiting factor in most guns is the valve design coupled with the way the valve is opened. If you don't believe me then see the droid, certain DMs, the Nova and some Ions to name a few. Think about it for a minute. If you can propel the ball to 300 fps at say 130 psi but its inefficient, then why is it inefficient? The loss in efficiency is due to excess air going through the barrel but not propelling the ball any faster. So you have the air at that pressure getting the ball to the right speed, but need to decrease the amount of air being released from the valve. In most cases the fix to this is a redesign of the valve system or the system that opens the valve. Since the Legend doesn't use an lpr, a reduced hpr results in less force from the ram which will mean the valve doesn't open as long. It also means there is less force behind the poppet which can lead to the valve opening easier and closing slower, but it seems like Rhino has stumbled upon a combination that is relatively neutral in the efficiency department. Hope my ramblings made sense to you.
Rhino I saw the words spring mod as I was scrolling down so I just had to check in on things.
Also we have enjoyed Rhinos "magic springs" in the Shocker community for some time now.

pm rhino. He's not allowed to list a price here due to bst infringement. The spring cost no more than a quick stop at a fast food joint. It's very reasonable.

Dont turn this into a BST Thread. We want to keep i open, Stop asking for a price and posting things like" pm me!" or "pmed". This thread is here to spread word about the spring and show the results from testers and owners such as myself.

Chrono results with the modified spring needed a 50 psi DROP to get the FPS back to where the stock spring had it. (under 300 fps)
Testing is underway tonight.....More to follow.
Also the marker has shown less kick than with the stock spring.
PM me for Legend springs.

Maybe you should read the thread before you start trying to shut it down. He wants people to pm him to get the springs.

Thats what he's saying. If people keep asking for prices and such mods will think this is a bst thread and will shut it down. They are always there watching for potential infractions. He's just trying to keep the thread clean and keep it from getting it shut down. He was simply saying that people should stop asking for a price, nothing negative. You probably just simply misunderstood his post, very common with online communications.

Holy **** stop arguing you idiots!!!
Just end it seriously argument will also close down a thread.as for the spring I have had the pleasure of owning one in 6 of my shockers and boy what a difference that little bugger makes.I always thought it was right at the same size as the legends.I was sponsored by infinity back in 07 season and the guns were solid no doubt however we couldn't shoot brittle paint in our no matter how hard we tried. All 12 of our legends had tadoa and pillowtip bolts in them but they would always bust a few.As far as efficiency and reliability unbeatable seriously top notch ****.
After I see some proven results of the spring I will purchase a legend and see for my self

hey Rhino,
you mentioned that this is the same spring that is also used on shockers. I am just checking as I bought that spring for my shocker off the nation....but would love to use it in my legend, but don't wanna mess anything up. Ive been shooting my legend for almost 2 years and will definitely assist in some testing if the spring is the same.
