I agree with that, but true new features would be nice. More efficient, not style bolt, new reg, whatever. Or they could release one every 2-3 years, and come up with upgrades in between

I do like their consistency of inconsistency with the rest (if that makes sense).

But the G3 will always be their entry level flagship so it will be around for years to come and people will still buy them. That's why I will probably be buying three more.

people are still buying 06 ego's/DM's, but look at there re-sale.
DM6=$350. They came out at over $1000.
In just three years, they lost 70 some percent

Cole was just saying that everyone who shoots DP guns, know that DP only makes great guns, that kick a**, and that whatever they release is going to rock.
Cole is a team mate of mine, and sends opposing players with Egos and DYEs to the dead box on a regular basis.
What's up, Cole?

Yeah, but a DM6 is in a totally different class than a G3. Were talking almost a thousand dollar difference between the two. The G3 out of the box @ $300 does pretty well. Even with all upgrades that you can do to a G3, it still comes out to be less than a high end Dye and can still keep up. The G3 will be around for a while I think. Everytime I go play here, poeple are always asking what marker I am shooting and I am seeing more and more G3s out there.

exactly, i went to the field a few weeks ago, and BAM, 3 more Thresholds. MAde me smile, thats for sure. The goodness of DP is getting around.
And while i know im gonna get it for this, You can deck out ions for less then DM's that will shoot as nice. (dont hate, i love ions. Great little guns) But alot of it is paying for the name (DYE/PE), Whch DP dosent do (thank god). I'm im honestly proud of that.

I second all of that. Ions are great guns. My backup marker, which happens to be made by Dye, is a great marker and with mods could keep up.

you don't know paintball if you think an ion will shoot as nice as any dm. besides pre 2005. and ions are also less, because of the frequent problems they get, and the hassle of maintenance that you have to put in to own an ion.
plz, never again compare an ion to a dm.

Exactly, So yes, G3's can keep up. But so can ions and pmr's. It;s all about how much money you put into it.
I will easily admit that DP makes great markers, no doubt. But any gun will keep up with enough in it.

If you upgrade every part of that gun (still considering it an ion), what's stopping it.
New bolt, soloniod, reg, all around low operating pressure, I believe it would shoot just as smooth.
Ge a new feedneck, it will clamp as well. New trigger is all preferance. New Asa will hold a tank as well. New board will keep up. New frame for comfort.

But, if you break it down, it is never the gun. You can sink your life savings into your choice marker, but if you don't know how to set it up, control it, and shoot it long enough to stay in the game, you are nothing. Everything is skill when you are out there playing. If you are a noob, it boils down to luck. The man makes the marker, the marker doesn't make the man.

A G3 SE, with APE Rampage board, and CP trigger, can, and does, keep up with a DM. We have competed against people using DMs, Egos, Luxes, and sent them home early from the tournament.
The G3 is capable of competing against, and beating, teams using the most expensive guns out there. We prove that every three weeks.

It is the name game for some people. Since Dye or PE makes it, it HAS to be good. They could produce a milled aluminum terd and people would say it is the best marker out there.

While I'm not arguing that, 2 people with the same skill, one with a Luxe, and one with a Brass eagle Pump. I'd bet on the Luxe, as would 99% of us. (The other 1% being someone who has the money to through away)
But a Luxe versus the ion described above, i'd have a harder time choosing.
