Macro lines are so user friendly. Keep the macros and just make an entirely new marker.

Yeah I dont care about the macroline personally. I say leave it on and put that time and effort into some other features of the marker.

Its contributes to the lightness of the marker
No more broken elbows or fittings blowing off *g3 much*

And with so many guns to use as inspiration (Victory, Luxe, Impulse) It cant possibly be that hard for DP machinists and techs to build off of those proven ideas and make it work.

Toss in the adjustable trigger from the REV-I and your golden

Hopefully another poppit style. ("F9" Fusion)

That said, I'm now going hardcore into making the F8 the best it can be, in every way, while using as many stock parts as possible.

I spent 3 hours tonight doing a custom modification to the bolt, ram, and pull pin. I've gotten my kick down to hardly existent, with a toilet seat bolt, and a nylon screw. The '09 EGO I test fired yesterday has only VERY mildly less kick than this thing now!

I've previously custom modded the 45 and trigger to give the most adjustable trigger probably in existence. Magnetic tension adjustment, pre-travel and post travel much further forward or backward than stock, depending on your liking, and adjustable microswitch activation point (7th element board is only thing not stock on the marker). All this to NEVER get ANY bump firing, yet be hair trigger if you want.

SO, the new breed of marker needs to really be insane, because I'll take my custom F8 against a whole lot of others! The F8 is just already such and INSANELY good platform to work with.

After seeing what they were able to do with the REV-i and the G3, I can only imagine what the next Fusion is going to be like.

Rest assured. The Fusion is what we decided to launch DP with for a reason and we did that because we fully believe in the Fusion design. There's no way we're going to let the Fusion line die.

Kip

Kip pretty much said that a new Fusion is in the works. I think he said all he is allowed to say about a product that is in the works.

I think an upgraded G3 with OLED board (G4 maybe) is going to debut before the next Fusion. I think APE is in the process of designing an OLED board for the G3, and are going to keep quiet about it until it's release. This may be because the OLED board is going into an updated G3 to be released by DP prior to the board going on sale to the public.

We'll have to wait and see.

I think my next marker before I buy a Rev-i will be a Fusion.

As far as internal air passage vs macro ... while I like the cleaner look, its actually more to worry about since there are several seals that need to be maintained. If you dont, they will start to leak ... and who wants even more areas to diagnose leaks from?

If I had to guess it, I would bet that DP does not put an OLED board in the new G3 (if they make one) because that would compete with the REV-i then. I would bet it has a v4 APE board though which has all of the same goodies just without the OLED.

I don't know where people are getting this misconception from. They will be static seals which require no maintenance.. since the seals will NOT be put under any stresses, they will hardly ever need to be replaced, only reason they would need work is if someone messed with them. All it takes is one extra air pathway in the frame and your golden. Your macroline is more likely to leak than an internal air pathway would.

internal air lines would be more complicated on the fusion, however still very doable and very easy. with extra machine time being negligable. The main thing they would have to do is redesign thier regs. Which in itself is not hard, just use proven designs and proven parts instead of trying to re-invent the wheel.

What most manufacturers have done and had success with is go with off the wall parts that oddly enough have been found in the automotive industry.

I really don't think a G3 can compete with a REV-i, even with an OLED board.

If the G3 SE currently costs $399, adding an OLED board would increase the price by about $100. Your looking at a G3 SE with OLED for $499. That would kick a**.

I think we are probably going to see a lot of the manufacturers going with internal air passage instead of macro line. It's simply an evolution in design.
