I just read all this, and I really like the idea! I definately vote that you keep the prizes modest and the entry's low... I remember the original dover tourney's a couple years ago, and they were awesome because it was super cheap to play, and all the teams were real laid back as a result...
I suggest:
4, maybe 5 events a year.
Cheap entry, meager prizes, maybe paint as a prize, similar to the Vicious series?
A format similar to the 5 man at the PSP, maybe race to 2? This eliminates fluke games.
I definately vote the the league follows the PSP guidelines on fire mode. 10.5 ramping levels the playing field, and guarantees paint revenues for the fields.
Just my drunken 2 cents....

The only time I had a problem with refs is when a team from out of state backed out at the last minute from one of our year end finals (in Russlleville). Spectators came out of the stands to ref so we could continue the event and even they had to take heat from disgruntles peckerheads. It's always the same, whether it's a backyard event or the World Cup. The winners love the refs and the losers go home *****in.

I understand what you are saying, but the "best they could" doesn't mean they weren't crappy. There was some very inconsistent reffing throughout the APC. Most of the refs were the local field refs or teams who were competing in the series also. The former usually had no idea what the rules actually were, and the latter had other motivations (not all, but some).

every tournament has a ref that pulls for a "hometown" team . even in larger venues (i.e. PSP) . and you will have it next year too . just hope we can keep it to a minimum cuz thats how it is . this isn't me on a soapbox just an observation

If I reffed at the local ball field, and the major leagues pulled me in, I would suck too. Not that the apc was the majors, but it was different than reffing walk-ons and the point is still the same, Mick. I don't think saying that most of local refs at the APC were crappy is an insult totheir integrity, because they were. I'm sure they were fine people, but most weren't good refs. Come on man, most of those refs had no idea what the rules actually were.

I have a suggestion. As a part of this APC or whatever it will be called......have a few REF clinics. One in the LR area and one up NW. Best way to solve the problem.

Very good suggestion. That way everybody that will ref the events can be on the same page.

Um...I know I read somewhere on here that some tourney players aren't crazy about All American but I bet they would LOVE to host one of these events.

All American has a great set up!
If this thing is going to be about paintball in Arkansas then it needs to find a way to get everything paintball related with paintball in Arkansas to have a chance to be a part of this!

It's been a while since I've played there, so it might have changed/been updated since I was there... But what I remember was this: very nice little cafe, convenient air station, nice bathrooms, but they just didn't really have a usable airball field. There weren't very many bunkers, etc. If that problem has been remedied (ie. a new field or something like that) then the place has my vote. Otherwise though, AA just doesn't seem equipped to run a reputable tournament. Keep in mind, all this was as of about a year and a half ago, things could very well have changed and I just haven't heard about it.
