Is there a safe way to release all of the Air from a Compressed Air Tank

I have a 3000 PSI tank but no paintball gun and I need to release the air in it so that I can ship it to someone who bought the N2/compressed air tank (3000psi/72cu)

if you look at the tank reg, at the top there will be like a stick thing i guess poking out of the top. Press it down and the air should come out

have you done this? (I might try pushing that down with a screwdriver) but I don't want to risk getting hurt

If there's a lot of pressure it will be fairly difficult to do. What I'd do is remove the macroline from your inline reg and screw your tank onto your gun and letting the air drain through the macroline.

Iv released the pressure with a screwdriver multiple times its not very dangerous. You can also release the air with just your finger if you push hard enough.

Just make sure that you have a towel covering your hand. The air can get very cold and cause a freeze burn.

This. Worked well for me the last time I had to swap regulators (thanks again, Simon!).

Oops. Broke my own cardinal rules of "read first, THEN comment". Same results can be had if one has a spare ASA sitting around. Short of that, I've done it in the past with a screwdriver tip (flathead only), but can't say I'd really recommend it unless there's no other options whatsoever.

Very unlikely but still possible. If he has a cut on the exact area the air makes contact with and the cut comes open. Very unlikely.
