parents

I have been playing paintball for 2 1/2 years and I always wanted to play for my field's team and now they need a second generation for their field team. Me and my friends have been going to the camps to see if they want us on the team and we all got invitations to play for the team. Normally my parents would be very excited about this because they love me to suceed in sports. I gave them the flyer and it said this is very comptetive team, we will be traveling, blah blah. I tell my mom and she's like this is going to be very costly. I was like well isn't paintball already? With the sponsors and once we get going it may even be less. I tell my dad and he's like I'll think about it. When they get back from dinner I ask him about it and he said him and my mom talked and they said they don't like the whole type of people of paintball (sometimes "trashy", no offense to anyone) and they said they don't feel comfortable letting me stay over at hotels with kids like that even though the guys on the team are kids they know and ones I've went to school with. They said they would rather me just play rec, but I have played paintball trying to get to this and now that I do I can't even play it.

honestly dude u cant "blame" your parents
idk if money is/would b a issue but its verry expensive
but if ur parents have the moeny u have to think where there comin from
paintball doesnt have the best reputation and at least ur parents dont go against u in playing paintball
maybe in bout a year or when you can drive job etc then they might let u play

money isn't really a big deal..they just don't like spending it on paintball because they don't think it's worth it

Tell them that it makes you happy. Personally I belive that if something makes me happy, I have no problem dropping cash for it. I know I will never get anything from paintball, but it will be a damn fun ride Have you dad go with you to event and stay in a seperate hotel room from your team mates.

like I play soccer at a really high level and I always have to travel to states like 5 hours away and stay in hotels, but for some reason they have a problem with it being paintball

Agreed! If there's a lack in trust, just have your dad piss test you when you get back. (If that's a reason for lack in trust.) Tell them they should reconsider it. You've played so long to get somewhere and now that you're there, your roads getting blocked off. Try harder and push how you really want to be a part of the team. 15 years old, you still got lots of room for progression and tons of motivation. Being more competitive will help. Just try pushing it onto them about it.

I have to pay for my own paintball dude. Really I would love my parents to death if they gave me the kind of money it takes to even play rec-ball.

Honestly, they're your parents. While you live in their house, anything they say goes.
In the long run though, will it matter if you do this now or wait a year or so until your parents feel more comfortable with the idea?
Also, maybe in a year you wont even want to play in tourneys and such, and you'll be glad you didn't waste your time and money.
Don't try to rush anything because it seems really fun at face value, be sure to do your research before you enter into a commitment that has the possibility of costing you a lot of money, and, more importantly, a lot of time.
If you're worried about losing your spot on the team, ask the captain if you can practice with them, and maybe play local tourneys with them. this will get your parents warmed up to the idea, and give you a taste of what you're looking at.

i would just continue playing at the field and over the next couple years get your parents involved a little more. if they don't watch you play? ask them to take pics of you or something.. start conversations about paintball during dinner. do anything you can to mention paintball, but don't push them. once you are a little older they might loosen up a little.

it sounds like you really want to make some progress and thats AWESOME. but, at your age, parents tend to control you the most cuz right now your at a stage where every decision you make will affect your future. and they know that. so they are going to control your life quite a bit. (my dad is a Colonel in the Air Force so i know everything about this )

but in the mean time, let the team captain know about your situation and tell him you would like to play in the near future. and while your waiting just keep practicing. your time will come

Well, If you could land a job I think ya might have a fighting chance at your parents letting you go play. If you already have a job, say that the job will pay for the tourneys and they won't have to worry about it. Get em' to call your cell whenever they feel the need to check on you... Etc.
