super easy way to take bolt off, when clean reg

instead of using a 9/16 socket just grad some needel nose pliers and grab and twist much much easier.

thought this might save some people time and sanity

A true mechanic/ airsmith will never use pliers when a wrench is called for.

Better than messing it up so bad that not even pliers will work so it takes longer than half an hour. Trust me, being a mechanic...you don't want to use pliers when there's a proper tool for the job.

Especially on Aluminum and brass parts. they tend to not be as forgiving as steel.

I hate even using a crescent wrench to take off brass air fittings.

LOL why in the world would you use a tool that was not meant for the purpose? It may work but that will eventually jack the nut(item) up. do yourself a favor and use the right tool...

how does it take half an hour to use a socket to remove the nut. maybe if you don't have one and have to drive to the store before removing it. it will actually take more time using the wrong tool. everything you have said shows you have diminished mental capabilities, and should not be anywhere near anything high pressure or anything that fires a projectile.

The 9/16 rench hardly fits and i have a huige mastergrip tool set so i have many differnt size sockets to choose. i was able to get the socket half way but the socket wouldnt go any further, so i grab pliers and lightly griped as to not scratch the brass and twisted.

yeah its risky but its better than driving to ur shop and having them do it and looking like an artard

Honestly, I'd think you were stupider for ****ing your reg up than bringing it in for me to maintain for you. Plus I'd be getting your money.

I wouldn risk it dude the brass on the stock reg is SUPER soft I scrached my piston tryin to push it out from the top with an ordinary ballpoint. Using needle noses would shred it.

sorry to resurect a dead thread..

Anyone have any tricks to removing this from the reg? All the sockets I have found have the tapered end on them to "make it easier to lock on to the bolt or nut / whatever you are using the socket for".. and this tapered socket will not connect with the short surface inside the reg.

Has anyone tried taking a socket and grinding it down flat so that it can get a secure grip the 9/16th connection inside the reg? Anyone have any other suggestions?
