Found this on a Dark Led

[IMG][/IMG]So I found this under the body of my dark led. It's a stretch I know but what is the possibility that this was one of Rockys guns???

It's possible, although I thought all of Rocky's Dark LED's were in doo doo brown.

You might want to email Ed Poorman and see if he can shed any light. Surprisingly, he still replies to emails personally.

I might give that a try doc. I could have sworn that Rocky had one blue dark led. But I was thinking it had a black dye trigger guard.

Actually, Rocky color swapped quite a few dark angels.

I used to have a black/silver that he swapped and then sold to me.

I remember him being one of the first if not the first to do it with the LCD generation. Remember the blue dark tear drop LCD that he had with red breech, feedneck, volly's, and frame? I just wasn't sure if he did that with some from the LED generation.

Lazzrus... where are you located? If anywhere near the Washington area it could be Rocky Knuth from the Naughty Dogs. I believe he had several Dark LED's back in the day

I don't think so. I played against Rocky many times in tourneys and almost joined the 'dogs when they were gearing up for their NPPL debut. In his Angel days Rocky shot a camo anodized Eclipse LED, the only I've seen. I never saw Rocky with a Dark. Not to say he didn't own one at some point but I doubt it would have seen much use since I was around those guys back then. One of the 'dogs jr kids has a blue Dark like that though. I know because I was at Rocky's house one day and advised him on how remove a stripped rear grip screw on it. 5999 is a pretty late number for it to be Rocky Knuth's too. That's just my opinion though.

That's not 5999, it's S 999, as in special

No, the s for special just meant you picked your serial I believe, not consecutive

Still think it's a 5, their engraving was pretty poor! Maybe Lazo can post the breech number so we can debate some more. If you're right you'll never see your two silver regs!

The breech will have a different serial because it's a chrome breech off if a chrome dark led. I will try to get a pic though when I get home.

Sounds like Cagnoni's work if it's color swapped.

That's bad tho as a breech will seldom line up with the holes in a different body. I have a whole bunch of old bodies and breeches on my bench that I've played around with. Since WDP was drilling such a long distance with a small drill the holes tend to wander some. I've welded 3-4 cracked breeches over the years and I always have to check that actual hole location and write that down so I can put it back in exactly where it was after welding. Not to say that your gun won't shoot but it might wear excessively in certain areas because of breech/body alignment. I have also been searching for a breech that will line up to a PL LED body that I have which is why I have studied so many breech blocks. But maybe you got lucky on yours.
