Interest check Indoor field

I have a very large indoor space that is not being used. It has been talked about putting a field in there. I believe the space can accommodate close to a full size field (as in this isn't a skating rink remolded to be a field). I am looking at having a proshop in front. There is an actual locker room already in the building. The problem is the price to heat the field in the winter. In the summer I can open the garage doors (yes this was once a large mechanics shop) and it would be kind of like having an outdoor field that is always shaded. I may also have room for a small field that could be dedicated for drills. So the question I pose to you Nebraska is how psych'ed would you be if this opened and how much time would you spend there?

Love the thought, but am highly skeptical. Where is the building at?

right around 58th and center. Cummings Diesel use to have a set of garages there where they would work on their larger engines. But I'm with ya Carter that's why I wanted to post here and see what kind of response I would get.

I would play once in awhile. I don't live in the area. I don't think the response on here will be all that great. These forums are not what they once were.

If you end up taking steps forward on this, let me know what I can do to help. My friend Lynn used to have a barn field that had a full size field and a seperate area for tight 2v2 games/drills/extra staging space. It was a great field, other than the surface being fairly loose dirt/sand. If you could get some decent turf, good lighting, and keep it above 40 degrees, I would go a couple times a month probably. More if I had a job there haha

Yeah I've noticed a decline in the NE forums over the past year to year in a half. It seems to be mostly a core group of guys and then a few people every now and then who have questions. I wish there was more I could do in the metro area to revitalize the sport but not living there anymore makes that really hard.

I don't have facebook anymore. their algorithms were matching me with people with way too much accuracy so I shut it down.

Just saw this. I live a walk away. I'd be a regular. I know the exact building and that would be incredible.

I got to ask which building am I talking about? Not to be a dick but just curious if there is another building not being used that fits this description.

Not sure what you mean. South side of center past the bend. Just saying it would be a fun place to play.

I would enjoy playing, I'm still new to paintball. I live in Omaha and would like to see and indoor field. So I don't have to drive is far to husker or mad cow.

I would say the amount of interest on a paintball forum, either high or low, should not be the deciding factor on starting a business. I've had no interest on this forum for a Rowlett location, but we opened one and were busy by week 3, and we have had no interest on this forum about a location in Keller, but we broke ground a few months ago, and will be pouring concrete next week on a new 1.7 million dollar facility. So again, paintball forum interest should not be the litmus test for business investment.

nebraska paintball has been in decline since 2012. back when i started playing you could go out on sat or sun and play with quality players. 3 man tournaments with the warped series were great. 5 man vicious series was good too. kersplat went under due to poor management onsite cleanness and d bag regulars and staff. Metro was a good place to play but was mismanaged into the dirt. if you were to start a business you need to be the jackie moon of paintball promotions and get events going. you cant sit by the way side and expect a client base right off the bat. you have to prove you are the best field in the area for tournament players. Clean facilities, keep the d bags out if you played at kersplat you know what i mean they employed morons. Its all about the basics.
