Well Evil finally got me the parts I needed to play with my omen again, so the cocker is going back on its stand
. Oh and I stand by my earlier statements, that Evil/PMI's customer service is way above the rest of the field. They just plain rock. Yah, issues may arise, but they do all they can to resolve them as promptly as possible. (it helps if you get Xzorx's mom to "persuade" them to help you
I typically run my omen at ~20 bps, which is plenty fast, although I can only pull the trigger around 14 times a second at max, but with trigger bounce and a debounce set at min, I've recorded 17 bps... Which I can live with
. The cam does well to prevent chopping even at these speeds. I had absolutely no breaks in the breech and I shot a little over 2000 balls of el cheapo ZAP.
I've cycled the gun on full auto at around 20 and 25 and it cycled fine, although I didn't try it with paint at those speeds cause I abhor cleaning breaks... and at that speed I'd have a helluva lot of cleaning to do if it did indeed break, and well... cleaning it out would've taken away from field time
. I was planning on doing some testing before we left the field, but I had no willpower or paint for that matter, at that time.
As such, I haven't done any thorough testing of the omen's limitations yet, since i was having too much fun playing games with it. But I will try to do so shortly. One of my buddies took a vid of me shooting it, I'll try to get that from him and put it up so you can see and hear this thing rip.
Final analysis: the omen's construction and anti-chop mechanism work impressively at higher speeds... how high though has yet to be determined.
