Good tips. Don't forget lots of stretching the night before and that morning. Warming up is very important before trying to play well

Local, Regional, or National?
Depends on the paint prices too, anywhere from $100 to $2000

I placed 2nd at my first tournament ever. It was a pev's PTS tourney and we placed second overall (we played the number 1 ranked team and beat them). That was all the way back when I was in the 6th grade.
All I can say is you have to put the nervousness behind you as best you can. I was still scared as **** to get shot. It's amazing how much better you can do when you have confidence.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
During my first couple tournaments, whenever we faced a team I thought we couldn't beat, I would just say to myself "whatever, I'll just stay back and hope the camera guy gets good pictures of me. I WISH I NEVER DID THAT. If you go into a game and try your best regardless of how you feel, you will play much better.
So go out with confidence, play your ****ing heart out, kick *** and take names.

well lucky you, my first turny was a "sandbagging" experence, by the end of the day i was coverd in so much paint i was more yellow the big bird driving a school bus . but it was fun to say the least.
