Tipping the Pizza Guy
How much do you tip the pizza delivery guy?? Anything? A couple bucks? As much as you would at a restaurant? I normally used to tip a couple bucks, but lately ive been starting to tip the full 15%. What do you guys do?

$3 is pretty much the minimum. Up to like $5-6 depending on time/distance away though. I don't base it off percentage, mainly just the distance from the pizza place to my house, and if they're about to close or something when I order.

When I order pizza it usually comes out to like $15, so I just give them a $20 and say keep the change.

Yeah I usually only tip like 2-3 bucks. I figure that should be sufficient.
I usually don't ever order more than 1-2 pizzas.

i'd just like to burst the bubble here. at most pizza places the delivery charge does not go to the driver; it goes to the store to cover insurance.

regardless, the delivery charge ups the price of the pizza and i only allocate so much for the the delivery. Delivery is expensive which is why i rarely do it

wrong my friend.
I have worked delivery for more than 5 places and at each one the drivers do take the delivery gratuity charge. They get that plus thier tips at the end of the night.
Also as for tipping goes we like to see at least 3.

I think $3 and above is fair for any order. Its delivery, not a restaurant. I don't really care if someone is counting on that extra couple of bucks, there are a million other people needing money too.

If the pizza is late (10+ minutes), nothing. If the driver isn't friendly or is just... weird, nothing. If it's an overall good experience, I'll just tell him to "keep the change". If it's less than a couple dollars, I'll add some.
Pretty much, get to my house on time and make small talk and you'll get a tip.
Oh, I work at a grocery store that's in the same plaza as the pizza place. When I used to have to take the trash out, some of the delivery guys drove like pricks and didn't seem to care about anything. If I see any of them, they're not getting a tip.

Always 5-8bucks.
Just because your food was late doesnt mean it is their fault. It's mostly the cooks that are the bottleneck they have to sit around waiting on the food to be made before that even leave the store.

The pizza guy is only responsible for so much... he doesnt pick his orders, he doesnt choose how many he takes, he just brings me dinner, and that gets him $5...

Most places add a 3$ deliv fee anyways.
If its quick an extra 2$ cash goes in the man's pocket.
