How to do the dives/slides properly?

Anybody got any good links/vids to doing dives/slides with the correct technique?

I don't want to be the guy who gets his barrel stuck into the ground or the guy who gets his hopper ripped off!

^ agreed. honestly just think about how planes land. they dont dive bomb head first but instead have a natural angle to keep their land smooth. same with people you should not be going down head first but spread your weight evenly between your legs, your arms and your belly, you should have armpads, they serve a good purpose

Watch a lot of vids on how to do it and watch the pros. The first time is bad, but just commit to doing it and go for it. I taught myself and it worked out.

-Superman slide
Run and try to get flat onto the ground as smoothly as possible, the momentum you will have from running will do the rest.

tips:
-when you are running put the palm with the gun facing up, and your empty hand facing down. as you are running sink your body down so you can practically reach forwards some and set your forearms down parallel with the field surface.

-Look where you want to slide, and you will slide there.

Same thing applies to the disaster slides. If you are staring 2 ft in front of your shoes you are going to nosedive and get your barrel stuck in the ground.

-Keep your head up looking forward through the entire slide

-It is a controlled fall that results in sliding.

Wait, I thought this was about diving in paintball, not about diving into a medical tube for your penis.

basically, i couldnt superman for a long time.
i bought elbow pads an then i could do it no problem. gear doesnt make the player, but proper protection will help you do the slide A LOT better. the elbow pads put less tred, and less pain on your arms.

what helped me emensly and this may sound kinda dumb but whatever.
I did it on a slip n slide... that's pretty much how I learned to commit and just go for it... sometimes you wonder what if I do it wrong and injure myself? it makes it hard to fully commit to that dive and be good at it. Slip n slide is a totally safe (and fun!) way to learn and or practice superman dives and various slides. I got my whole field into it and it was a fun day.
