i got a FREE RC buggy but ti wont start

which is why i got it for free. the fuel is pretty old, so can that be bad? i think the starter thing might have bad batteries, what happens is i sit there trying to start it for like 3 hours then it will start for like 1-3 seconds and shut off.
btw, i have never owned or operated an nitro car. but i was always decent at rc hobbies. ill see if i can dig up spcs and get pics or something for oyu guys.

Hammi helped look for balloons
get new fuel, clean out the tank/lines/filter, open up the engine and clean it up, get new batteries for everything, set the carb to baseline settings, and then start from there.

Turn the High speed needle all the way down(to the right) then back it out(to the left) about 3 1/2 turns. Should get you close on just about any motor. LSN flush with the arm. Google the terminology to understand what I'm talking about.

Before you set the needle though, take the HSN all the way out, just keep unscrewing it untill you can just pull it out with your fingers. Blow fuel through the carb, make sure its not clogged by old fuel. Then reset to the settings I suggested above.

Replace the glow plug, and get new fuel. As long as the engine has compression, it will start.

i beleive its made by Kyosho, most of the suspension is anodized blue, along with the engine. it has stok white wheels. and the shell has Kyosho and Inferno 7.5 all over it.

Kyosho Mp 7.5. Easy enough. One of the best buggies made out there. The Inferno line has a lot of wins behind it, and is a proven platform.

ok so the steering likes to get caught on some mysterious peice somewhere that i cant seem to find. I LOVE THIS CAR!!!

it's a 2 stroke changing up the exhaust won't do much

just take the steering apart make sure nothing is bent and check the servo you might have a stripped gear in it

Check the suspension bump stop. There is a little allen grub screw on the A-arm, right up next to the hinge pin. Make sure thats not screwed in. You can adjust it to fine tune how high the buggy rides. The previous owner may have adjusted it to squat the car down more.

Also, buggies dont have tons of travel. They are built for racing, not all that much into bashing. That little bit of travel should be plenty when set up to take a 10ft high jump or so. You'd be suprised.

Start diving in there and finding out what it is. Take the steering servo horn off the servo, and see if the wheels turn left and right freely, or if there is a little bit of bind. If you feel a little drag, start trying to pinpoint which side of the car its coming from, or where in the steering it is. You should be able to find out where the bind is, and get it silky smooth.

Uhh.... pipe changes on these little engines can actually do A LOT. Changing from a stock pipe to a decent tune pipe will give a noticable difference in your tune, and the power. A pipe that is long and skinny is mainly for high RPM power, a pipe that starts skinny, then goes fat is for mid or all around performance, and a pipe that is fat all the way is for low end power. They can really make a difference for good or bad.

On my boats, if I change just the length, not the shape of the pipe, it can make a difference. 1 inch or so is a difference of about 1500-2000 rpm.

omfg pile of **** car. wont start again!!! the glow plug gets hot, the carb is tuned and the gas is good bu still no dice. i got it running this morning fine but not now, no not for me.
