when I air up my nme, the valve leaks a bit. I shoot it a couple times, and it seals. Then, when I start opening up on the field, the poppet leaks like a mofo. Do I have to tear the gun down to the poppet, or can I do anything external to help fix?

You need to replace the cup seal and or replace the poppet o-ring. You weren't very specific as to where the leak is from so I can't say for sure.

i dunno anymore. hardware stores may have them and/or if you acn get th specs on the o-ring, online is probably a good idea.

i don't think the cup seal is dead. the poppet just sounds bone dry or the oring is cracked.
