I've noticed that the Speed's breech o-ring/gasket has a tendency to fall off or get shredded in half. Some people using normal high pressure preset tanks have no choice but to run their Speeds at high pressure and low dwell. This leads a very high burst of air pressure from the exhaust valve and puts a lot of stress on that little flimsy breech o-ring/gasket. The consequence of all this high pressure is blown out o-ring/gaskets. Even when the rubber seal is brand new, it still doesn't provide a good enough seal, lots of gas escapes out the sides! Anyway, I was at a local paintball store (
www.generaljoes.com ) the other day when my breech seal/o-ring/gasket thing fell off and got lost somewhere. The WDP certified Super Tech Alan Hanagata at the store came up with this simple solution.

Anyway, after installing and testing out many, many different sized o-rings w/ various durometers... the final o-ring not only solved my problem, but the new performance result is just unbelievable! This "fix" is way better than the stock breech seal/o-ring/gasket! NOW, there's virtually no air blowing pass the breech o-ring. NOW, it's a lot quiter because of the improved seal... it was the first thing i noticed!!!
Here are some pics of this super upgrade. AND YES, you can also do this for the LCD/IR3s!
aaahhhh i gotta run, i'll explain more later, have fun reading and being confused as to why this mod is sooo important...
UPDATE 9/13: Here are several ways to get this O-ring: 1. buy a variety of o-rings to find one that fits. 2. call up
www.GeneralJoes.com and order one. 3. Become a Supporting Member by donating $5 to PbNation and I'll send you a couple of these O-rings for free. Existing members can still donate $5 and I'll send them the O-rings free of charge.
Update 9/14: an o-ring remover/dental pick can be used to chip/break the dried super glue gel or regular super glue. In other words, the dried superglue can be easily removed... very easy.
Update 9/15: If you decide to do this upgrade, let us know how it works for you. So far, DucktapeBandit is the only one who's taken the initiative to do this and is very pleased with the results.
This upgrade can also be done for the Angel LCDs and IR3s, but finding the right sized/durometer o-ring is going to be tough.
Thread temp stickied at members' request.
Update 9/18:
FREE OFFER! Alan has generously donated 10 O-rings for me to give out, free of charge.
Another update: I'm all out of o-rings! I'll try to find out o-ring size and let you know so that you can get them from a hardware store or something.
UPDATE again:
The way we looked for an o-ring was to go thru this bag filled with a ton of different random o-rings. Anyway, we figured out that these are the same o-rings as the autococker valve seal o-rings! These o-rings can be found at almost all stores that service autocokers.
