I have heard that you can use nail polish as a marker accent and then bake it to harden the enamel. Has anyone done this? Post pics before and after baking if you can.

I believe sending your marker out for some lasering or custom anno would be well worth it over this. Markers in ovens makes me cringe, even if some have done it before.

Why would you waste the money on a laser job? This works great. PROOFZ!:
I tried just using nailpolish. That worked ok but baking it made it much more risillient not to mention how it got shineyer. Cept it gets more liquid first, so after you bake it you cant touch it until it cools down...

Yeah especially if you just want accents/small parts done. Should only be like $50 at most.

I dont have $50. i had the chance to steal my sisters nailpolish though. plus if i dont like it i can just wipe it off... i think... that might change after baking... who knows. seems like just a good idea as sticking my annoed gun in an oven for hours

hey nail polish is great stuff if get a chip in the anno and its cheaper than re anoing it and you reallly cant tell the diffrence

baking small parts like that has no ill effect on the gun and it does harden the enamel immensely if i had to wager a guess its about as hard as powder coat after baking. when i tried to take baked on paint off of one of my old spyders i had to soak it in stripper overnight to get it to come off so yea you can wipe it off its just a little harder than normal. and for you people that think heating a marker will damage it i have references that say you are wrong unless you heat it to near 1000 f (http://www.suppliersonline.com/prope...1.asp#physical http://www.efunda.com/materials/allo...properties.cfm http://asm.matweb.com/search/Specifi...ssnum=MA6061T6 http://www.alcoa.com/gcfp/catalog/pd...alloy_6061.pdf) now where is your proof.
