Can I bring a paintball pistol onto a speedball course?
So I've been thinking about getting back into paintball and I figured a paintball pistol would be awesome. Less $ on paintballs. Smaller marker=smaller target. Less $ on air I think.
Hell, I noticed a couple guys with pumps on the speedball course. It was all recreational of course but thats what I'm looking for. Why can't I bring a pistol?
So tell me if this idea would work or not.

Yes you can. Yes, you will save on paint. No, you wont save on air. Yes, you will have fun.

Recommend me some pistols?
Something that uses a co2 catridge bigger than 12grams. I was looking at the ariakon overlord and ACP but they only accept 12gram co2's, which only give you 20 shots a cartridge.

I dont have an opinion on pistols to use. Asking a question like that is bound to turn this thread into a vs thread.
One thing you brought up was a reason to go with a pistol is you are a smaller target. I have to say thats its not quite true. Most people using pistols tend to need staight arms extended to site and to do that they tend to step into the open more often.

i wouldnt say a smaller target. you are still a normal target, people may just not worry about you until the last few mins. of the game.

Hunt down an used Minimag like I did if you want a small marker. They're roughly 14in long, use a tank instead of a powerlet, and use standard size hoppers

It's hard to find a small marker like the Minimag that uses a tank and fullsize hopper.

Many pistols can be setup to run remote these days. I've rather enjoyed running my Tiberius T9 is pistol form, with a remote and revi. A small 50 round hopper would keep it from feeling top heavy, but I HATE chops, so I always use a motorized hopper on a semi (and often on pumps too).
Your basic blowback pistol (PT, and the like) can take a bottom line ASA. A small 4oz tank pointed forward would hardly be noticeable.

The new Tippy pistol (TPX) will be able to be converted with a remote line for constant air. Stock set up is under barrel 12gram. I have shot it and it's alot of fun comes with two clips holds eight shots (per clip).

You can set up... pretty much all paintball pistols to run on constant air using a dummy 12gram, a tapped fitting and some macro. I bring my PGP on the field all the time as my primary... mostly because I need to get better with the dang thing. Hard to aim, IMO.

Besides the powerfeed, my minimag is smaller that my friends sl94 in almost all aspects. Anywho, bought a cheap pistol for 30 today, I played speedball with it. Terrible idea to use as primary. Having 8-10 shots before a painfully long reload is incredibly hard to deal with. I used it as a secondary to my pump, it was fun, but kind of useless since I can't shoot/reload my pump with one hand.

Can? You can bring anything onto a paintball field.
I think the real questions are should you, and may you.
