As most know, I have been involved in paintball for over 15 years now (I am 28 years old!). Recently, a parent of a child that had just completed his last session of chemotherapy contact DBS about his son and a few friends coming down to the arena to shoot targets and enjoy some time with a paintball gun!
Well, he came in for one hour, and loved it! I know for me personally seeing how excited this young boy, all of 7 years old, reacted to his first paintball experience. I was very touched by this, and know that I personally am involved in paintball because of the memories it creates for me while both playing and in being a part of others paintball experience.
WHAT I AM TRYING TO DO
I am working to build a community of paintballers that want to work with me to bring a paintball experience to kids that are fighting cancer. My objective is to either get the kids to one of my facilities, or for me to set something out at the hopsital.
I believe a shooting booth or target range would be best, but am completely open to expanding or modifying that, as again, the idea behind this project is to create a great memory for kids fighting cancer.
Please Note: I will not only allow kids fighting cancer to partake. Anyone at the hospital would be encouraged to come have some fun!
WHAT I NEED FROM YOU
I can get all equipment we would need to set this up at the hospital, but need your help in getting in contact with the right people to make that happen.
Do you know someone that works at Children's? Or another hospital? Please tell them about this and ask how we can make it happen!
Paintball has been my life for the last 15 years, and I want to share that with others. Thank you all for being a part of that amazing experience and let's help bring the sport we love and an amazing experience to those in need!
