Question Im confused

So i bought a bunch of stuff from a guy the other day. Included with it was a tank. It is a carlton 4500psi. The Dot is 11194 so it used to be a three year hydro but now is a 5 year. It was rehydro in 11/03. And then again in 12/06. But the tank didnt need to be hydroed in until 11/08. The guy i bought it from said to ignore the later hydro and go by the 1 in 03 which would make it expired. Which hydro do i go by?
Sorry if this is confusing.

you go by the latest test date on the cylinder. which would be 12/06. keep in mind that the tank is still only good for 15 years from the original date on the cylinder label.
