not for the first run sadly. I am assuming gloss black was picked to match the majority of the parts, eye covers, triggers, bolt guides....

While it doesn't have to be polished, a part has to be chemically etched in order to give it the same even texture all round - dust isn't just the absence of polishing, there's still additional finishing processes involved between machining and anodising. As metal polishing can itself be achieved chemically rather than mechanically, there isn't necessarily a great saving in labour in using a dust finish rather than a polished finish.

Dusting would involve bead blasting it. Setting up 5 feednecks for bead blasting might not be worth the time. Im assuming they are machined fairly glossy, quite touch up and walla.

Plus gloss black will match the new barrels.

I do believe all black parts (e.g. eye covers) on dust guns were still polished. So it should match anyway.

The metal parts are lightly buffed and probably "tumbled" which removes most of their burrs, but yeah like Uziel mentioned they have to be media-blasted prior to ano. It's not a long process if done by hand but does require some work.

Maybe this was mentioned earlier in the thread, in case I missed it, you always have the fall-back mthod of using a slightly smaller feedneck and epoxying it in place using a metal-to-metal epoxy. If the threads are damaged this is often a good alternative so long as you want to preserve the body and not bother attempting to repair it.

...someone who had begun to learn geometry with Euclid, when he had learnt the first theorem, asked Euclid "What shall I get by learning these things?" Euclid called his slave and said "Give him threepence since he must make gain out of what he learns".

In which case, if you aren't overly concerned about being able to remove the feed neck easily, and just want your feed neck to be secure now, you could always thread lock or epoxy the feed neck in place - it's a practical solution to the problem, as long as a semi-permanent solution isn't an issue for you.
