UL'ed G3

i deciding if i should start another project and put a ul on to a g3. the only main question im wondering is if the ul board can supply enough power to activate the dp's noid. any help would be great.

just put a UTB in it and call it a day. Just when you order it email damon to see if it needs a capacitor to run that noid.

i could do that. he recommend using a cap for any installation of the utb. i would rather us the ul board so i dont have to make a mount bracket for the trigger switch.

ok then find the spread sheet for your model noid and find out what the current draw is at 5v. Then find the same info for a normal DM noid. If the G3 is within 10% of the DM noid then I guarantee that it will work. Over 50% difference and your chances go south real fast.

There is no data sheet for the DP solenoids. I am pretty sure that they were made custom. They say they are designed in-house, but as to the manufacturer and the specs, that is anyone's guess.

so got my g3 in and try it on my pm5 board and no go. i kinda will activated the solenoid but as soon as i put air to it would fire. on the other hand the ego board trigger the noid just fine. so what do you guys think? (yeah tape is hold the frames on for now)

update:
milled out the center for the noid. still need to mill out a slot for the eye wires and so it sit flush against the body.

heres a pic update. bought a cheap dm7 frame and fitted it on. i know it looks like crap. i didnt really feel like put all my effort into this project because the frame is bent.
