ive tried both football and soccer and found them both to be effective. however, it also depends. are you on turf? are you on straight mud? are you in a soft mud grass mix? thats only if you really wanna get picky though.
i recommend you just find a pair of cleats that are cheap and fit well and have good overall traction. if you already have a pair of (like i did) soccer cleats just use those, or if you have baseball cleats use those... etc
soccer cleats are great. high traction, low weight.
I firmly believe that any man's finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear,
is that moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause
and lies exhausted on the field of battle - victorious.

Exalt cleats are by far the best for what we do. They're low cut, light weight, very breathable, and have exchangeable spikes to keep you legal in any tourney. They run at $75 but they're worth ur money. It makes sence tho, use paintball cleats for paintball.
golf cleats with rubber spikes, if you can find 'em
distributes pressure to the spikes, and allows you to really grip

And shepherds we shall be, for Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, that our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee, and teeming with souls shall it ever be. |In nomine Patri|Et Fili|Spiritus Sancti| AMEN
